National university cohort 47

Published

Hello everyone!

I recently applied to the pb bsn program at national university- san diego location. I wanted to meet other potential nursing students who applied or are applying to this cohort. I was wondering what some of you scored on your teas, GPA, are you pb or generic entry etc. I can't wait to meet you all!! :)

So good to hear it went well, I think we have a good chance honestly. I read the threads for cohort 45 and 46 and we the students accepted have numbers a bit lower than ours.

I figured we can't share the prompt but is it personal? like in the forum I went to the guy said we would have to state why we are better candidates than the person sitting next to us.... I plan on using my best judgement, I have so much passion about Nursing and the Medical field I can't imagine not having something to write about. However, my nerves can mess with my though organization skills :(

You want to make sure you personalize your essay. It's a better way for them know the applicant and what you have to offer to the nursing field. The prompt can be very different from that one but it is still going to be nursing related.

Well, I go tomorrow for my Essay. I got a 90.7% on my Teas today and my GPA is 3.45. I am hoping I get an easy prompt so I am not wasting time trying to understand what it means lol After all, english is my 3rd language.

Thats an awesome teas score! Much better than mine lol ..Good luck on your essay!

Wow! that's a great TEAS score. Good luck tomorrow!

Does anyone know how they calculate the gpa?

Yes. So take all of your letter grades, translate them into numbers, add all numbers and divide it by the amount of classes. I just used my grades from the 4 classes and left the labs out because the difference is small since it's only 1.5 credits. So mine for example was:

A = 4.0

A = 4.0

B = 3.0

B- = 2.7

Add them all, gave me 13.7/4=3.42

So in my case to calculate how many points I get for this GPA. Take your GPA and divide by 4 (3.42/4=85.6%) since I have a 90.7% on the teas and both are worth 40% each we can add both values (90.7+85.6=176.3x.4=70.52) so this is how many points I have right now and my max points would be 90.52 if I scored 20/20 on the teas.

Since the average acceptance points for the previous cohorts was 81 I think I have a chance :)

I could not believe it myself, that test was my worst nightmare.

Thank you! it's just the science gpa not overall?

Lol nevermind I see the previous post .

Hello, good luck to you all! I've applied to this cohort also. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to start notifying us about getting in? Now that the eassy and teas are done I'm so anxious to know but can't remember or find anything about how long it takes. Thank you :)
