National University BSN Program

Published

the anticipation is killing me!! after working hard for 2 years i finally completed my application to national university for their Accelerated BSN program. i took the teas 5 just over a week ago and am expecting my acceptance/rejection letter during the first week of june. even though it is just 3 weeks away, it seems like a lifetime! if i am accepted i will be joining the october 2011 cohort. anyone else going to nu during this time?

BTW Kitty, I had the same problem with the nursing forum. I think they wouldn't have let you sit for the teas test or even accept your app. if that was a problem. let us know how it goes at the school.

I think you are automatically denied if you apply for a program for people without a bachelors degree when you already have one. Hopefully that's the confusion. You would think the system would catch that before letting your application go through. Good luck to you both! You both seem to have great grades and TEAS scores!!

Thanks Berra

I applied to Generic Entry BSN

Bummer! I was hoping it was just a little quick fix :( Well good luck to you still! Let us know what happens!!

I origionally WAS denied for the application process, I had to talk to my counselor for several days to get it waived, they had to find the physical paper where I wrote my name on the check-in sheet. The question is, did they enter the attendance in, or did they just patch up the problem with a waiver.

86% on TEAS, 3.6 GPA, passed all classes the first time. Denied. I am driving to the school in an hour to get to the bottom of this. Like you Bioman, I can't seem to find the meaning of my denial.

When I tried applying for the program online several months ago I had a problem with records saying that I never took the pre-nursing forum, which I did. My counselor had to waive the forum so that I could apply, and now records show that I never went to the orientation for pre-nursing. Perhaps this is why I was denied.

Maybe I misunderstood, but I was under the impression that it was a done deal. Everyone I've talked to from my classes and the TEAS test date scored lower than I did. You guys here seem to have good test scores, but some people outside of this forum got in and they scored in the low 70s and had a 3.0 not 3.5.... This is so frustrating.

Let me know kitty.

Bioman, I just got back from the meeting at NU in Rancho Bernardo. I spoke to an admissions advisor, nursing advisor and even the head of the nursing department. No one knows anything yet. They all tell me that ------ is the one who handles these issues and that we need to contact her. However, she is out of the office until Wednesday. I left work and drove an hour and a half for nothing. My only hope is to meet with ------on Wednesday.

If I was denied for academic reasons, that's one thing. However the head of nursing told me that the pre-nursing forum is only valid for one year. I attended the forum one year and 6 days before applying. Forget frustrated, now i'm pi**ed.

Oh Kitty, that must be so frustrating. They should have told you that from the very beginning! I hope they work this out for you.

Kitty,

Was this your first time applying to NU?

yes, first time applying.

I am meeting with ------ on Wednesday, hopefully we can work something out. My biggest concern is that I have to reapply by the 10th, and the earliest pre-nursing forum date (because now I have to take it again) is in July.

Well good luck to you! Let us know how everything turns out!

If the school lets you go throught the entire application process and then tells you that you went to the nursing forum 6 days too late, they should let you submit you application to the next cohort...then go to the nursing forum in july. As long as you have attended one before the final decision is made.

Good luck at your meeting on Weds.
