Nassau Community College Spring 2016

Published

Hi everyone! Anyone applying to NCC Spring 2016? I just took my TEAS yesterday. They are using a new way of selecting applicants so it will be interesting. They are using all classes pertaining to the program, rather than the four. Also, they aren't using the science part of the TEAS. Anyone else have any more info?

I have a BS and 3.57 in 7 classes that I have. NC resident. TEAS...I may take again, but I scored Reading 83, math 67, English 70.

Good morning.

Spott86, does your email say anything different about the nursing department beyond what is available online? Based on your post, you seem closer to acceptance. Your status was the only one to change, too. Some of us are prior grads, some NCC, some elsewhere, and others are change of program. I know that there are different pathways to entry, I am curious as to yours.

You must be so excited to be moving forward!

It was just the same nursing dept info that's on the website. I applied through admissions and honestly I won't be excited till I get an acceptance email/letter. Till then I'm hopeful & humble like everyone else.

I am sorry I misread/read into that wrong. I am optimistic for you and everyone else here, the stats posted seem to be pretty competitive. I was hoping to receive an email yesterday, I was told on the phone directly after I applied that I needed to get permission from the department for a second degree. Then I could hear another person behind that person say to the other, that I did not need that. Another person later, said I did not need to do that yet. I was under the impression that it was not required until you got accepted into the program. Then again, the information I received was not consistent. I have been looking for information, and was excited to see that word was rolling out. I thought I would be better at waiting this out.

It's ok I blame it on the stress of waiting for these damn letters lol. Your right if you have a degree from ncc already ,you don't get permission for second degree until you get accepted.

my program info (i'm a returning student, so i had to reapply through registrar) still say liberal arts :/ the wait is killing me! 62.7% teas and 3.3 prereq gpa, i doubt i'll make it in.

They are using a different acceptance process this year @wannabeny so you never know.

I am hoping we all at least get our emails this week so we know where stand. Such a long wait!

hello, so i have a 3.5 GPA, still have to take AP2 micro and stats (if thats still a req)

Teas score of Reading 90.5 MATH 83.3 ENG 90.0

think thats good enough to get in??

I would be happy to have those numbers going into the application process. Intro to stats is still required but not as a pre requisite. The more classes you have completed and the higher those grades are are also taken into consideration. Also, they consider whether you are a Nassau County resident or not. On the NCC website, under nursing, click on the routes to admission link on the left. Good luck!

I received an acceptance letter as a nonmstriculated student. I don't know what this means. Is it a rejection to the nursing program? My registration status is nondecided/ nonmatriculsted.

Hi everyone! First off good luck to those of you that have applied to the program for the spring. I'm sure that'd be a great thing to be thankful for on Thanksgiving

i have some questions about the nursing program at NCC. I'm graduating from Hunter in January with a BA in psych but I'm looking to go to NCC for nursing. I have anatomy 2 left to take and micro. Do any of you know if Nassau will accept anatomy 2 taken at a different institution than anatomy 1? I took anatomy 1 at Hunter but never got around to taking the second part. I know QCC is very strict about their repeat policy and they want both anatomy courses taken at the same place, just wondering if NCC is the same.

Also wondering if I have to be matriculated at NCC or if I can apply directly to the program without having to do a semester prior.

Any info would be great!

Just out of curiosity, why would you choose to go to Ncc instead of going to a bsn program. Pros and cons?
