Hi everyone! Anyone applying to NCC Spring 2016? I just took my TEAS yesterday. They are using a new way of selecting applicants so it will be interesting. They are using all classes pertaining to the program, rather than the four. Also, they aren't using the science part of the TEAS. Anyone else have any more info? I have a BS and 3.57 in 7 classes that I have. NC resident. TEAS...I may take again, but I scored Reading 83, math 67, English 70. 0 Likes

I just used regular textbooks to study, no ATI resources. I want to retake it next month. My GPA is low; mix of A's and B's and one C. 3.1 GPA. Very frustrating. Meldel 59 Posts Aug 20, 2015 How many classes do you have? They said the more the better. I also read that that they will only use As, Bs for qualifying purposes so maybe that C won't hurt...? 0 Likes
wannabeny 530 Posts Aug 20, 2015 i have everything except the history elective, medical micro, and biomedical ethics. I have Intro to Ethics, but I was told they wouldn't except that Altogether 7 classes towards the major..only one C out of those 7.Where did you read about them only using A and B classes for qualifying purposes?I have re-registered for the TEAS to see if I can get a higher score, now that I know what I missed. wannabeny 530 Posts Aug 20, 2015 oh, and I called and asked as well; they said they are only looking at English, Math, and Reading, they're looking for scores of 58.7% and up on all of them. Maybe they think the science is too broad to be a determining factor? 0 Likes
Meldel 59 Posts Aug 24, 2015 Maybe. I called again, too. The website says they do not look at courses below a B when checking criteria for eligibility, but when I called they say they look at all classes that would transfer. So C's, too. I just found out the B that I thought would transfer as a history isn't a SUNY GER so I would have to transfer my history that is a C+. Brings me down to 3.52. Not a huge difference. Ughhhh. There are 72 seats I believe so that's not too bad. Fingers crossed for us! 0 Likes

Charne09 7 Posts Aug 25, 2015 Where on the website do you see this information? I have never heard of that before. I am a fall 2015 entry student. Don't stress to much about all that. You have a very good gpa! Way higher than mine and I was accepted. 0 Likes
Meldel 59 Posts Aug 25, 2015 On transfer student section of Spring 2016 Routes to Admission page. @charne09 did they use all prerequisites last semester or just the four like previous semesters? I know there are less seats in the Spring. It is so tough to wait and try to plan. I have three young children that I registered for preschool and finding a nanny for my youngest just in case I get in. Does having a prior degree in a different field help out at all? It looks like co-reqs, TEAS, and county. 0 Likes
Meldel 59 Posts Aug 26, 2015 If you don't mind me asking, what was your GPA and TEAS score? Did they look at the science then? I'm worried because they just changed their process, but I suppose it helps me more than hurts me. I just would have had a 4.0 if they were only looking at the four classes. Now since they are taking all classes that would apply into consideration, it drops down. 0 Likes
