Nassau Community College Spring 2016

Hi everyone! Anyone applying to NCC Spring 2016? I just took my TEAS yesterday. They are using a new way of selecting applicants so it will be interesting. They are using all classes pertaining to the program, rather than the four. Also, they aren't using the science part of the TEAS. Anyone else have any more info?

I have a BS and 3.57 in 7 classes that I have. NC resident. TEAS...I may take again, but I scored Reading 83, math 67, English 70.

They made some changes to the curriculum. They took the previous four but now require medical micro and biomedical ethics. I have to complete the two additional before Nursing 203. I have a previous degree as well. It helps cover other classes like the social sciences, english, math but I still need to take a stupid art class to fulfill the Humanities require of 6 credits.

It can get confusing, ultimately they tell you when your accepted one on one what you need to take and have you sign paper work that you know the expectations.

Pre reqs: 3.0

TEAS: embarrassingly low 60% (proficient)

Are you a Nassau resident? I applied for fall 2015 with 3.77 gpa for the pre-reqs and 72% on my TEAS and didn't get in :sorry:. I hope their new curriculum works out. I have all classes complete except 1. I'm taking the history class this semester. Good luck to you this semester!

I don't understand how you didn't, but read applicants with lower GPA's and scores did.

Do you mind me asking what your gpa and score for the three sections of TEAS? You have 9 out of 10 classes. That is great!

i hope I stand a chance, I did all of my classes at NCC, nasssau resident.but with such a low GP who knows :/ 3.3 gpa with the C class, 3.5 without it and a 62% overall on Teas.71% on reading, 63% on math and english.

Just take your TEAS again and ya never know. You are a NC resident so that could make up for the GPA, maybe? Someone on this thread said she had a 3.0 and proficient on TEAS, and now in The Fall program!

I'm torn on taking TEAS again. I have 3.52 with the C, and 83, 70, 67 on TEAS. I called the nursing department yesterday and they said I shouldnt take it again, and I was over thinking it. I still may take it!

How many times are you allowed to take the teas exam, I called n they said only three times but on the website it says as many times you want

Is it true ur allowed to take the teas only three times at nassau for the nursing program. If so that sucks

Wow, I didn't know that. I thought as many times as you want with 30 days in between. I can't see how they have that in writing and then not honor it.

you can only retest 30 days after the last test.
