Nassau Community College Spring 2016

Published

Hi everyone! Anyone applying to NCC Spring 2016? I just took my TEAS yesterday. They are using a new way of selecting applicants so it will be interesting. They are using all classes pertaining to the program, rather than the four. Also, they aren't using the science part of the TEAS. Anyone else have any more info?

I have a BS and 3.57 in 7 classes that I have. NC resident. TEAS...I may take again, but I scored Reading 83, math 67, English 70.

Most accelerated programs are private schools and they are very expensive plus the accelerated programs stress to not work while in school and I can't afford to not work right now. Its still not out of the question but right now I'd rather take the slow route and avoid loans

Is the letter from the nursing dept? It sounds like its a letter from admissions. If you got rejected the letter would say it

Was it by email? I spoke to nursing department yesterday and they said they're finished with their portion and waiting for admission so they can combine...? They said they're working really hard to get them to us this week.

anyone else besides Zoily85 have a stats change or an email/letter?

you don't have to do a semester prior to applying to NCC's nursing program. If you're a matriculated student you just apply for a change of program from the Nursing Department I believe and if you're non-matriculated you apply through the admissions office, which is what I did. According to the website beginning with next year's class there'll be no prereqs required to apply to the nursing program so whatever course you're missing you'll just have to take along with the nursing classes the way I understood it so maybe they'll take both a&p's. That's a lot of maybes lol, best to call them to find out for sure.

"BEGINNING WITH THE CLASS ENTERING IN JANUARY, 2016, THERE ARE NO PREREQUISITE COURSES FOR ADMISSION TO NASSAU COMMUNITY COLLEGE'S NURSING PROGRAM. Applicants are evaluated for admission based on their results on the TEAS exam (see page 8) and performance in any of the general education/liberal arts courses that are part of the nursing curriculum (see page 10)."

good luck!

Zoily how did u do on the teas? And have you completed most of the classes in the nursing curriculum?

@zoily85 did you ever follow up regarding your letter? That would drive me crazy. I would think they would send a rejection letter that would be clear IF it was a rejection.

well you have to get accepted to nassau before you get accepted to the nursing dept so that letter has zero to do with you getting in or rejected to the program

I got a call from ncc 2 weeks ago asking if i want to join thr honors program i was so confused i said i applied to the nursing program she said i can be in the nursing program and still be in the honors program for the non nursing classes . I told her that i don't even know if I got into the nursing program yet. Shes likr oo ill call u back tom but i never heard back what does this mean??

I got the same call. I followed up and director of the honors program said to call him back I find out I'm accepted in order to sign up for honors classes. When you apply to the school they automatically see if you can be in the honors program.

I was hoping that meant i got into thr nursing program o man!!

No unfortunately they are completely separate. The director didn't even know I was applying to the nursing program.

Thanks!! Cant wait to find out already i just want to know!
