Nassau Community College Nursing program Fall 2020

Hello everyone,

I did not see a thread for upcoming Fall 2020. Who has applied for this window that closes March 13th? What are your stats? I want to know like yesterday if I got in. This wait is the worst. Anyway, I look forward to hearing from you.

I emailed them a few days ago when letters started going out and got the same exact response. It must be some kind of canned message because it had the same spacing and a capitalized “Be Well”. It didn’t even address my questions. My friend who started the nursing program this January said it has always been via email. She never heard of letters going to people who currently attend NCC. Who knows in this crazy time though.

Yes. It doesn't seem they are giving out too much detail on applications at this point. LOL I can imagine the amount of people emailing in asking the same questions or similar question. I hope that admissions is wrong about your application!

UM how would you even know to follow up? You literally did exactly what you were supposed to. This entire process is incredibly frustrating.

@youngcheerio that is so messed up! Do you have the sent email? I would fight that. Are you a current student?Are your stats really good? If so, don’t give up. That response is ridiculous.

I emailed admissions this morning as a follow up. Unfortunately I was eliminated right out of the 1st round due to my TEAS scores my english and science didn't have a 58.7% or better. I thought maybe would everything else I had on file as far of grades that wouldn't matter as much. Good luck to all the rest. I'll be hopefully reapplying for Spring as long as I can secure a date for the TEAS.

My stats are

english 1 - A

english 2 - need to take

psych 101- B+

Lifespan development - B

A&P 1 - C+

A&P 2 - B+

Bioethics - need to take

Statistics - A

Pathophysiology- need to take

medical Microbiology(I took Microbio at Suffolk not sure if it's equivalent) -B+

TEAS scores

math - 65.6

science - 55.3

english - 58.3

reading - 72.3

Standardized tests have never been my strong suit.

@youngcheerio did you send your nursing app to [email protected]? If you did they are 2 separate departments. Admissions never knows what is going on in the nursing program. If you sent everything to admissions then you can reapply Sept 1 for Spring. I’m sorry but this is terrible. They need to get their acts together.

Statistics - B

currently taking pathophysiology and medical Microbiology

TEAS scores

math - 90.6

science - 74.5

english - 70.8

reading - 89.4

average of 82.7

my scores are better than another girl I know who got an acceptance letter

I have proof I sent it in on time. I’m extremely frustrated. I trusted the system. I don’t even know what to do or say at this point

I am so sorry to hear that! The TEAS is pretty tough! The first time I took it I did not do so well and took another month to myself to study more. It is true when they say the science portion is the hardest of them all. I am wishing you nothing but the best! Keep your head up and keep pushing forward!

You should definitely reach out to nursing, not admissions and send the sent email with the time stamp. Maybe they will figure something out for you. Now I’m freaking out too. This is such a mess. I’m so sorry this happened.

@youngcheerio then you are still in the running. Admissions can’t answer who is in or not has to come directly from the nursing department. Wait for the email & do not feel discouraged. Your stats are amazing.
