I thought I'd start a forum for Fall 2017
Yes the long sleeve coat is for lab days (but can also be worn on other days on campus if you want). The only thing I do recall the professor saying as far as our footwear was that it needed to be all white with no designer logo. I bought plain white sneakers from DSW I'm gonna see if they're acceptable. I'm not crazy about the sneakers in the scrub store they don't look comfortable.
I plan to apply next week as a transfer student from Suffolk I currently live in Suffolk so I will miss out on the Nassau County points. I have never been in any kind of nursing program so I will get an extra five points that way. So far my grades are*
Stats: B
Eng 101:B+
Eng 102: A
Chem: B
A&P1: B+
Lifespan dev: A
Psyc 101: C ;[*
His 101: A but I am unsure if this is the history they accept*
Sociology: B+*
I am currently taking a&p2 at Suffolk Community College but obviously will not be finished until December.
On my teas exam that I received*
Math: 84.4*
Reading 63.8
English 62.5*
With that being said does anybody know what my overall point score would be I also have other credits through Suffolk Community College but I think these are the only important ones that count towards nursing. I am wondering if I will get in with these scores and grades I plan to apply next week.
Hey I just applied in Nassau community for musing. My overall GPA is 3.44 and I finished most of the courses. I have only two courses left. I did really bad on the Teas. I am a Nassau student and live in Nassau county. I also finiahed my associate degree. But I did really bad on the Teas exam. I got 75% in math, English 70%, Science 70% but I did really bad on the reading. I got 55% in reaidng. The lady in the department told me you have to have 58 in each courses in order to apply in the program? I really want to get in this time. I am really disappointed now.
What if you don't do good in Teas. I got 55% in reading which is less than the requirement. My overall status is proficient. They said you can only apply if you have 58 or more in English, reading and math in Teas. My overall GPA is 3.44 and I finished most of the classes. Just has to take micro and philosophy. I am Nassau student and Nassau resident. Never applied in nursing before. Finished associate from Nassau.
Do you guys happen to know how much GPA plays a factor? Reason I ask is I had gone to school for four years and recently decided on switching what I wanted to do to something very different than what I started with and my GPA greatly suffered from what I originally wanted to do. However, the classes that they'll look at/take with the nursing program I've gotten A's in so curious how much GPA is a factor.

Hi All, Hope everyone is doing well, 12 more days to go and the fun begins right! Can someone in the evening program confirm we have a general nursing orientation tomorrow 24th Aug 2017 starting at 7.30 A.M? Thanks
