Hello everyone,
I just took the TEAS exam and going to apply this fall.
My results:
Total score: 68.7
Reading: 72.3
Math: 87.5
English: 66.7
I hear they don't count science and hopefully my prereqs will help
Anatomy and Physiology I: A
General Psychology: A
Statistics: A
History 101: A
Lifespan Development: A
English 101: B
Nassau resident........crossing my fingers!!!!
this is how the point system works. The maximum amount of points a person can receive is a 192. This is how it is broken down. It was explained to me by one of the admissions directions of Nassau, not the nursing program.
There are a total of 33 credits you can complete without being in a nursing program. So if you have a 4.0 GPA with 33 credits, you multiple the credits that apply to nursing times your GPA. Including transfer grades. My GPA with the nursing classes I took there, is a 3.85, but with my transfer classes, it's a 3.58.
So, 33×4=132.
They take 3 sections of the teas into consideration, the math, reading, and English and language usage. You can get a total of 45 points for the Teas, a maximum of 15 points for each section, depending on the score in each section you can get, 5, 10, or 15 points for each section, not the average score.
if you get a 58.7-79, you get 5 points
if you get a 80-89, you get 10 points
if you get a 90-100, you get 15 points.
so if you get a 90 or higher in all math, English and language, and reading, you would get a total of 45 points.
You get 10 points for living in Nassau
If you have never been in a nursing program before you get 5 points. If you, let's say, dropped out of Adlephi. Whether you just dropped out on your own or failed out, you just don't get the extra 5, nothing is deducted from you score.
so 132 possible points from class, 45 possible points from the Teas, 10 for living in Nassau, and 5 for not being in a nursing program before.
132+45+10+5=192 points.
hey everyone. I don't know if this was moved or not. I tried to find another one but didn't.

Wow nice stats
you def will get in. I got around 103 or 110 I think.
Recently just got accepted into Adelphi nursing but just going to apply to ncc to see if I can get in.
I wonder what the average accepted points are. I can't imagine most people having all prereqs done with As lol.

Hi guys, I applied few days ago as well.
Do you guys know when we will be able to find out the results?
And if I'm a transfer applicant, where in myNCC website should I look at in order to know the results?
Thanks! Best luck to everyone
you get an a letter in the mail notifying you on whether your accepted or not at the end of april. congratulations on being accepted into Adelphi star

I thought for the grades it was the credit times the grade you got? For example an A=3 A&P credit is 4 so 4x3 is 12. That's how they explained in the nursing info session. They also never said anything about 5 points if you've never been in a program before but that's pretty cool.
it is. if you get an A in a 3 credit class, that's 12 points. if you get an A in a 4 credit class it's 16.
