Nassau community college Fall 2017

Published

I thought I'd start a forum for Fall 2017

How are you calculating your gpa into there bc I was just told it's just the credits you've taken that they don't actually look at the gpa. Sorry just a little confused trying to understand because I was told something a little different

Sent my application in about two weeks ago and just received word that all of my transcripts have been received. Fingers crossed.

A&P 1 - A

A&P 2 - A

GPA: 3.65

94.9

Currently enrolled in Medical Micro as well, but that won't count towards application, unfortunately.

TEAS Overall: 86% Advanced Nation PR 96

Reading 85.1%

Math 93.8%

English 79.2%

30 points

Nassau Resident 10 points

First time nursing 5 points

Total: 139.9 points

My GPA, including transfer grades, is a 3.58, and I completed 25 credits. I'm taking med micro and A&P2 now. so my points from classes completed would be 3.58×25=89.5

total credits that apply to nursing, multiplied by your GPA are the points you receive from classes.

Oh ok I get it thanks!

I heard you can't take ap2 and micro together if you wanna go to ncc nursing. It messes with their acrediation. Heard from someone, could be false.

there are people in my micro class who never took AP1 or 2

If you have taken bio you can take micro, and Nassau does acceptance. IM taking micro now and there are ppl who are taking A&P1 at the same time

Does anyone know what average of quality points for people to be admitted? over 100 I assume? Went I applied at nursing dep, I asked a few people what they had. Most had 9/10 and above prereqs with 80-90 teas.

based on looking at other forums like this from previous semesters after calculating the points, Spring 2017, the lowest was 121, in the fall of 2016, the lowest was 112.

wow that would really suck if i miss it by 4 points lol... I have 108. Guess just depends how many qualified applicants this year. Nursing dep said 64 spots for day and 24 for night.

Is everyone applying for day??

it's 72 spots for the day and 24 for night. It's harder to get in for the fall semester because they applicants from high school applying. if you don't get in and your points are good, be patient because a lot of people who get accepted might go else where and they call down the list.
