What's everyones opinion about the program not being accredited yet? Anyone in the program currently have any information about this from the inside?

My personal fear is that I begin, make it to the end, approach graduation, and realize that NSCC is still not accredited :uhoh3: If anyone has opinions or info about this I'd love to hear it.

We (the first class) have taken a big chance with this program and their pending accreditation. we have been assured that the heads of our program are working overtime for us. I'm not going to lie, it's scary for me to think about. Honestly though, the process isn't overnight. They have to prove their method is effective before they become accredited. If by the end of our last semester we are not accredited, I have heard rumors that another school will take us under their wing. Not sure how that really works. Honestly just hoping it doesn't come down to that.

Yeah - I'm sure about the validity of that either. :confused:

My biggest worry is just the oppurtunity cost of a Nursing school that could, in the end, not allow me the ability to attain the job I desire after I graduate because my degree would technically not be accredited. Saying that, hopefully the process will go off without a hitch, and the college will become accredited as soon as you graduate! It really does feel like a WHEN and not IF situation.

For any nursing program to become accredited, they have to have the first class finish and take the NCLEX. You can not become accredited beforehand. NSCC has been approved for the nursing program, but like any other school, you have to have the first class finish to get accredited.So no worries they will be:) Good luck

Believe me, if they do not deliever and we have to wait on them to be accredited- there will be a lot of angry nursing students raising hell. I can promise you that. We respect the heads of our department, but they should remain on their toes because this is our future that we have invested in them.r

Funny Face,

How do you know you did not get accepted? I applied for the program and still have not heard any word. I called Monday and they said they were still in the process.

I haven't heard anything yet. I am so frustrated too, one, because I haven't heard anything and it's May 12th, two, because whether I get in the program or not depends on what I am taking this summer. OMG! If I don't get in the program then I have to retake a religion course at another college b/c that's the only thing that could be holding me back... if I get in then I have to take my micro this summer. Nothing in life comes easy though, and when it's my time, I guess God will open up the door. I hate to go up there again, but at this point, it's getting close to summer classes starting and I need to know something. I mean, who is to say my application didn't get misplaced or something, ya know?

My interview went well (I think) but you never know what they are looking for. They said that they will send letters out the end of next week letting us know if we were accepted. Waiting is the hardest part and I know how you feel. I can't believe you still haven't heard anything, i'm glad you are still remaining positive through this stressful situation. I guess if I don't receive a letter by the week after next then I did not get in. They said that we will receive a letter either way but the one's who did not get accepted have to wait until they are done selected the one's that get in before they send out a letter. I wish you all luck!

Harris- way to go! So happy for you! What kinds of stuff did they ask you? How do the group interviews work? Is each person asked a question or do they ask the whole group questions and whoever answers first?
