My test stopped at 75

Published

I am not sure if it's a good sign or not. From the very beginning, I knew for sure that my test would stop at 75. And it did.

I took the exam on Feb. 20~two days ago. And I really think I am putting my husband and my kids into hell. I am so axious abou the result. Even though my husband keeps telling me it's ok if I fail, I just can't help myself from thinking about it.

To tell the truth, I don't think the questions as hard as I thought. The first questions and the last ones were easier than the middle ones. I had 3 to 4 "check all that apply" questions, tons of priority, no calculations.

Right now, all I can do is pray and keep myself distract, not to ckeck the CA BRN website all the time.

How is that negative? I'm just saying that the majority of posters and people that I know who have taken the test and stopped at 75 have passed.

I think it was more of an encouragement to the OP, not discouragement. I have yet to see someone fail at 75.

Take a chill pill!

the only thing I see as a negative would be that you implied that just because you fail at 75 means you absorbed nothing. I dont believe this to be true. For example: what about all the nursing students that have test axiety! that was the only thing I see that a few could take as negative.

the only reason it is a sensitive topic is cause somehow this test can be perceived as cut and dry good or not good as a nurse and that simply is not true!

took my exam today and i stopped at 75. i felt absolutely horrendous. :(

to all those who took the exam: how was your test? did you get all priority questions in the end? my classmate said if you get questions with the bold words like essential, best, most, first, etc., you're on the right track. the thing is, when i got those questions in the middle of the exam, after a while, i get questions which do not have those bold words. i kept thinking i'm doing worse. was it the same with you guys?

also i kept getting questions about client teaching: what to include and what needs further teaching. is this good or bad?

I could have written that post last week.. That is exactly how my test went! I thought the beginning was not toooo bad the middle was ridiculous and then the end it seemed to get easier and it freaked me out... I also passed at 75... I also felt horrendous when I got out.. I cried and puked for 48 hours straight.. ;)

I seriously was convinced I failed... I knew that statistically I should have passed.. 85% of people pass...MY school has a 98% pass rate and I had a 3.98 gpa through school (thanks to one A- grrr) so realistically and logically I had pretty good odds... Plus I am good test taker.. HOWEVER.. for the 48 hours after that test, I just KNEW I had failed.. Well... I didn't.. I passed... I don't know anyone who didn't feel like they failed.. Everyone says "I know I failed.. this was the worst I have ever felt about a test." I don't know if this makes you feel bettter but if not maybe it will let you know you are not alone...

Good luck and keep us updated!!!

wooohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats!!!

I just wanted to say Congratulations! I also took my exam this morning and stopped at 75. I truly felt that I guessed on many of the questions :crying2: . However, I am trying to remain positive, as I know many people feel that way after their exam.

I took my exam on Tuesday morning and stopped at 75 questions, and waiting for my results. Waiting really bites plus I am in CA so you know they take forever hopefully I will know by tomorrow the good news that I was waiting for. Question are all the priority always in bold letters. I too am trying to stay positive.

I believe, and this is only my opinion, that if you stop at 75, chances are greater that you passed. If on the other hand, you fail at 75, that means you've absorbed nothing of nursing school, and you would have had to answer most of the 75 questions wrong.

If I am wrong, I would love to hear from people who failed at 75. The majority of the posters taking the NCLEX and getting to 75 only have passed.

I think the sentence you included "if on the other hand, you fail at 75, that means you've absorbed nothing of nursing school....." is a very negative comment. Perhaps it just means that you have higt test taking anxiety or needed more prepping for the NCLEX exam. It certainly doesn't mean that you spent years in nursing school and are dumb. It would be interesting to know if you polled those that did fail at 75 or failed at any number of questions and see what they think about this comment.

Just a thought.

Look, I'm sorry I caused so much turmoil. Yes, test anxiety is possible for some of those that may fail at 75 (again, I haven't seen anyone say that they failed at 75!). I believe, and again this is my feeling, that those taking the test and it stops at 75 have a far greater chance at passing than failing.

For those of you with test anxiety, I humbly apologize.

And no, I have not taken it yet. While I do have some anxiety at test times, I've been lucky enough where it doesn't effect my actual test taking.

Again, I'm sorry.

Well guys I want to say that I passed
