Hello fellow nurses! Well I am an American citizen who graduated from a foreign school and got my BSN last April of 2010 and I haven't applied for nclex yet because my school is taking too long to release my diploma and transcript which I hope to get it by august.(I hope to take the NCLEX by mid August to early September) Since then I've been studying like crazy and thus far I have already read 3500+questions i lost track
Everyday I would just do study mode on saunders like 250 questions and I would write some of them down in an index card specially the one's i need to focus more on. I would answer and read all the rationales carefully. It takes me about 6 hours to finish including breaks.
I would only do quizess when I feel like doing it because i'm already exhausted by then. I just recently bought the Kaplan 2010-2011 strategies and I'm been working on the strategies as well. Any input by my allnurses family will deeply appreciated. Thanks in advance for the time. I wish all of you well in your NCLEX and nursing career. :redbeathe

Sounds like a good plan to me. Try quizzing yourself every so often, to see if you can answer the ones you were having problems with and had to study extra. Good luck.

What school are you from?
thanks calioter i'm going to keep doing it until i know my ATT
itanga-I went to (FEU) Far Eastern University School of Nursing Philippines one of top nursing school in the Philippines for 2009 (so they say on Philippine Board of Nursing). It is actually a very good school and I know many foreigners who goes there.
Anyways, the bottom line for me is to pass NCLEX.

If you are good with content type questions start transitioning to Kaplan questions. You will find very little if no straight forward Saunders questions on NCLEX, Kapalan will prepare you for the type of questions you are going to see.
I agree with rednight. Saunders is way different compared to kaplan question. Saunders q and a is very easy, dont get me wrong i love saunders q and a I used it for reviewing content.

Rednight and Itanga-thanks i have 2 less than 5 days to finish the remaining 2k questions from saunders and i'm already thinking about transitioning to kaplan. I appreciate you guys for taking your time. I was wondering if guys passed nclex already?
Dumb-i'm sorry i didn't mean to say that but that was ur screen name..but thanks i'm going to look at it after i reply to the post.
i'm very receptive right now and i'm very much eager to learn everything about nclex. I don't know maybe i've never taken nclex before but i just want to be very well prepared on this. I'm anticipating everything that could happen when my nclex comes but i want to be able to pat myself on back and say that "hey you know i did give my everything regardless of the result that i don't have any regrets!"
Part of it is not being shy asking for help...from students as well as RN's.
Thanks for everything...
Your positive aattitude will definitely help you get thru this!!!
keep it up!!:yeah::yeah:
hey dumb thanks i read your post about your nclex journey...that was really insightful...likewise i am just an avarage student who has to strive harder than the rest because i don't really pick up that easily so here i am sitting at the library just finished doing my 250 questions for today. you really explained that well and you took the words out of my mouth.
Thanks for the support i think when i am feeling discourage i'd like to read that post again...
