My NCLEX JOURNEY- I hope i passed!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I am a nurse trained in the UK as a psychiatric nurse- our training is different which mean we specialize, very early on n the program- i have no idea about diabetes, heart disease etc.

So anyway, I decided to take " the impossible" NCLEX despite being told it was virtually impossible for psych. Nurses to pass.

I used:

The Lord Jesus Christ of course....

PDA

NCSBN 3 week course

Saunders

and I studied.....not reviewed, but studied, solid for 4 weeks!!! I'm talking about 5-6 hours a day everyday for 4 weeks!!! I should also point, out that i graduated 10 years ago and i have 3 kids under 8 and have NEVER worked in the USA.

I took my test today....it was THE most difficult test I've ever taken and as I walked out, I vowed that if I failed, it. meant a change of career for me coz there is no way I'm putting myself through that again!!! I cried all the way home...I had 90% priority and a lot of SATA, and ordered response, as well as infection control and 2or 3. EKG and about 3 calculations. I found it very difficult... I think the computer shut off at about 115-120 questions, but by then i was like -" can this end already, I am soooo tired" , 3 hours later, Im crying in my car, all the way home...had some wine then did the PVT....got the good pop up...I still dont believe it though... iVe paid for quick results and I am still praying..

One thing for sure...its nice to be able to watch tv again!!!

Does the PVT work 100%?? im so nervous.... But if i can do it....anyone can!!

Specializes in Cardiac Care.

I wouldn't say 100% but I would say 99.99% Although it has worked 100% of the time for myself and for everyone else I know! :-)

Congratulations!!!;)

I'm pretty sure you passed! Never heard of anyone failing with the good pop up...

Congrats!

I hope it means that I have passed...when I think of all the hours I spent..and the casrifices I made...

Does pearson vue really wait exactly 48 hours for quick results or can it be sooner?

The good pop up works 100% of the time. CONGRATULATIONS NURSE!!!!

Depending on the stat you live in you might find it on the BON or DOPL site. Mine was posted in less than 36 hours after the test.

Congratulations

My scores were around 60-75%. There were times that I got 38% and would go back and review the content and understand why I was getting questions wrong- second time around I would get over 80% (they change the questions a bit each time you re-take the quiz). I found NCSBN quite difficult and close to the real NCLEX. 7 days to go...I would review content that you are week at for just one or two days, then just do questions questions questions..do you have PDA?

yes i have PDA about 70% in that book. finished only 6 lessons. i have kaplan too. in kaplan score is about 65%. if i do NCSBN again the my score is above 80%. becaz half of the ques. are same. i am weak in SATA so iam doing NCLEX 4000 for those.

the majority of my questions were prioritization- which patient do you see first... and guys...IT'S OFFICIAL....well 'unofficial' , I paid for quick results and it looks like I passed. All the glory be to God!!
