I am so upset!
My awesome Master Cardiology stethoscope which i LOVE totally got stolen or accidentally thrown out today at work...either someone took it or I think it might have gotten mixed in with dirty linens or garbage and thrown out
I looked around for over 6 hours in a million rooms on my unit and could not find it...nor can I remember where I had it when I put it down.
If it doesn't show up at work soon I guess I will have to buy another one....I am thinking of buying another MC or maybe even the Cardiology III which is slightly cheaper and apparently is still good
My cardio III walked around the unit for a few days..until I saw it...around a much hated doctors neck.I asked her if she could read, and if so why the stechoscope with "jessie" in big red letters was around her neck.
And what did this wonderful doctor say in response to your questions??
my husband finally had mine engraved by Littman when he bought my last one after yet another MC walked away. the engraving is so light in color that unless you know it's there you wont notice it. you would not believe how many necks i've took it from with people swearing it was theirs.
grrr.
I once slammed a Cardiology III in the side door of an ambulance. I'm talented... what can I say?Has anyone checked out ADC stethoscopes as a cheaper alternative to Littmann? Might make the sting a little bit less if it did disappear.
I was surprised to find the ADC quite adequate............hate to admit it though... >>snicker
I use one of those clip thingys that goes on your waistband, and the scope hangs in. I thought it would catch on everything, but my old Littman Classic II (that they don't make anymore) has the short tubing, and it's never hung up. Might want to consider trying one out...it's something like $6.
And yeah, Littman will do a total refurb for about $70 bucks. New tubing, rings, diaphragm, took the head apart and cleaned and lubed it. I was very pleased.
I also have zero problem telling someone, "No" when they want to borrow it. Unless I really like you, and even then, I'll stop what I'm doing and follow you to wherever you use it and stand next to you, staring at you till you hand it back (always with a smile). Yeah, it's kinda rude...but I've had the same scope for years now, so I win.
