Are they sure it's not her appendix??? I would think this would have been ruled out...but you never know. There are so many different things that this could be...but would need more info on labs..xrays, US...etc...etc. What did they see in the CT, and where is the source of the infection??
I do not know what the cultures are, just that after her CT scan, the doc said it was a severe enough kidney infection that just Rocephin wouldn't take care of it alone.
I'll give it till tomorrow for the antibiotics to take effect, and if not...I will ask for renal consult.
Wish I knew more to tell you all....
Thank you for everything so far!
Julie

I need some help here. My daughter, who is 22, came to visit me this past weekend. She woke up Sunday morning with excruciating pain in her right side, toward her back. We went to the ER, the doc admitted her with a dx of kidney infection. He started her on Rocephin (IV).
Now here it is Tuesday, her fever keeps going up and down (102 to 98. & back up again), her WBC hasn't budged. (Was 22000 on Sunday and still is). He ordered a CT today, says now her infection is very severe and has her on Levaquin AND Rocephin.
I'm worried.
What do you guys think?
