Hi All!
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for perking up my tired, aching feet? A pedicure sure is nice...if only I had the time/$$ to do it every week :)
I am prepared to try any and all suggestions!!
Thanks!

Good shoes and custom orthotics from a good Chiropractor.

Get some foot creme that has peppermint essential oil, the Body Shoppe
has one I used for years with relief. Try foot reflexology, you can do it
yourself and it does not take long.
Feet First: A Guide to Foot Reflexology by Laura Norman is a great book!

Get some nice smelling lotion and tell your husband, sister, brother, a son or daughter ...someone :) to rub your feet! and new shoes every so often is what I do :) good luck my friend.

In addition to the foot rubs with peppermint, try soaking your feet in water as hot as you can stand with Epsom salt added. Old fashioned, but it works!

I noticed my feet did not hurt anywhere near as bad when I started wearing support stockings during my day. Finding good ones is hard, tho ...not too tight, but snug enough.

my feet never seem to get tired in a well broked in pair of danskos. (though the break in period can be a bit rough...)

Get you a foot tub from Wal Mart. I think there is a Conair brand for about $20. It bubbles the water and you can add some Epsom salts and soak your feet. You just put in warm water. It doesn't keep it warm but it still feels good. Definately helped my feet after 12 hour shifts and is cost effective. :)

My chiropractor suggested changing shoes for each shift if you work several in a row. He says it takes at least 24 hours after a 12 hour shift for the cushion to build back up in your shoes. I tried it with 2 different pair of shoes and it seems to help!

If possible plug the drain while you shower and give your feet a mini spa while you're soapin' up.

One word....Alegria. When I get home from being on the floor for 12+ hours my feet feel fine as well as my legs and back. I tried to "break in" a pair of Dansko's, but I just couldn't do it. They are not as comfy as Alegria. They may be expensive, but trust me they are worth every penny. I plan on buying more since they have so many cute patterns to choose from. Here's a link to the pair I have now. They are amazing!
