MUSC nursing application fall 2017

Published

Hello all,

I Just wanted to know if anyone applied to MUSC for fall 2017, I applied and frankly I am a bit nervous. Also, I would like to hear any experience from the spring 2017 folks.

Thank you

@samaria37 you may just not have checked the box that said you would like to receive more financial aid information. The only reason I asked about it was because it seemed like the decision letters typically followed soon after in previous feeds.

I did not apply for FAFSA, and I did not receive any financial aid information.

Also, my prereq deficiencies are still being evaluated.

Oh ok. That makes sense now. @bearbear123, they're still evaluating my prereqs as well.

The app progress website shows I have pre-req deficiencies :( i'm not really sure what to do now. will they contact me?

It could be anything, maybe a humanities course or something. I'm not sure if they will contact you, maybe you can contact The enrollment office and ask, but I do believe you don't necessarily have to have all pre requisites to be accepted.

Also, what did it say next to what you're deficiency is? Should say maybe "3sh of something" or "missing LOR"

You still probably have a chance. I know someone who got in last year and just on her acceptance letter it said that she need to take 2 classes that summer to start that fall.

Hi!

Joining in on this post as I also applied to MUSC for fall 2017. I've worked in healthcare administration for about 6 years (first 5 in Pedi Hem/Onc and remaining in Neonatology), Bachelors in Economics, currently volunteer at a youth homeless shelter in seattle, and have shadowed in two NICUs and in the inpatient and outpatient cancer units in Boston. I've applied to a few other places and am waiting to hear back from Umass Amherst, NEU, UIC (i just interviewed with them), OHSU, and MUSC.

For the pre-re deficiencies, this almost nearly gave me a heart attack so I emailed the admissions coordinator. The deficiencies didn't mean I didn't complete them, it meant that I was waived but there's no way to indicate that on the progress screen. I would email Katie Patterson if you are worried about what the pre-req deficiencies might mean in your case because mine was for English Composition and Microbiology.

Welcome @dkim101

your stats are pretty good. Also I assume since the progress page has been updated, they may be close to making decisions if they haven't already

Anyone hear anything yet?

nothing yet - my nerves....

Hey! I also applied for Fall 2017! I read on their page and you just need to have 3/4 science prereqs complete by the time your application is reviewed. I also am showing 3 prereq deficiencies but I completed two last semester and didn't send an updated transcript because I figured I would just send it after I graduate this semester if I get in! I'm very anxiously waiting. My GPA is a 3.49 and I worked at a patient care technician at a hospital for 13 months. Have y'all gotten in anywhere else?
