MUSC nursing application fall 2017

Published

Hello all,

I Just wanted to know if anyone applied to MUSC for fall 2017, I applied and frankly I am a bit nervous. Also, I would like to hear any experience from the spring 2017 folks.

Thank you

I applied for Fall 2017 also and literally am going crazy waiting until March to find out!

Hi! I applied as well and I'm terribly anxious about finding out. I am an out of state student also

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

Moved to the Nursing Programs / Colleges forum.

Do y'all have any previous degrees or a lot of experience? I'm actually from Charleston and finishing up my bs in psych from Clemson University. I have not had direct experience other than shadowing in the ER and volunteering with individuals with special needs.

I currently work as an EMT, but I am super worried about my gpa. It's above the minimum but I am Afraid it's not competitive enough. How about you guys?

I'm right around their average of 3.4 cumulative but my prereq gpa is higher. I had a rough freshman year with the adjusting to college and being premed, so I've been working to bring it up since then. I know that more people typically apply for the fall admission vs. spring so I'm a little worried about how many applicants there will be.

hi all! I also applied! Did you all do regular or priority admission? Also, approx when do we hear back? I looked all over their website and couldn't find out when

I applied for regular admissions. I believe you usually get an answer sometime in March. The website says they usually take about 8 weeks after the application deadline, which seems to be the 3rd-4th week in March. What are your stats if you don't mind me asking?

Regular admission also in-state. I have talked to a few people who are in the program now and the committee meets in the middle of this month typically and sends out the letters around the second week of March.

@Samaria37 I have a 3.4 in my undergrad GPA from Univ of California, Irvine and then I have a 4.0 in microbiology, anatomy, and physiology. I forget what other classes were pre-reqs lol I've worked as a scribe in the emergency room for the past 2.5 years!

Good Morning All,

I applied to the Fall 2017 semester as well. I am very anxious to know if I am being accepted as well. I have great grades from my last 2 schools and 5 years as an LPN and 12 as an X-ray tech. I have plenty of volunteer hours, but it is not recent. Its from 2012. The essay was hard because I wanted to write so much more. 100 words is difficult to express yourself through writing. Anyways, good luck to everyone. I am a local and will try until I get in!
