MUSC Accelerated BSN Spring 2017

Published

Hi everyone!

I'm a pre-nursing student in Charleston, SC hoping to apply for Medical University of South Carolina's Accelerated BSN program for the spring of 2017.

I'm currently completing the pre-requisites at College of Charleston, which doesn't have it's own nursing program.

I'm going to be applying with around 75 hours including the 60 hours of pre-reqs, and expect to have a GPA of about 3.8.

I'm 19, and I'm planning to apply this summer at the end of my sophomore year, but I'm worried about my chances without a previous degree and some experience working in healthcare. I'll have a good number of hospital volunteer hours, but that's it.

Is there anyone who's currently in the program right now, or has a applied before? What do you think my chances of getting in with my expected GPA and just the pre-reqs are?

Thanks!

That's so exciting! Congratulations!

Congratulations!!

Btw...I called MUSC because I couldn't wait any longer. Letters were mailed Sep 15. I'm in Summerville, so they were surprised I hadn't received my packet yet.

Congratulations! Who did you call? I've been trying to call Mardi Long because I can't wait any longer! But maybe she's not the right person. I've tried maybe 4 times over the last week and it keeps going to voicemail.

Although I'm in Mount Pleasant so if letters were mailed on the 15th I probably didn't get in...

There's still hope you were accepted in the priority admission pool. I'm not far and haven't received mine in the mail yet. There's still time and they're still accepting people. I was transferred to the College of Nursing when I called MUSC, so I don't have the direct line. I was worried my packet may have been sent to my old address, since I recently moved.

Thank you! I'll try calling again and hope I get transferred to the right person

I got in!!! Got my letter this afternoon :)

chris10.80, has yours come in the mail yet? Mine was postmarked the 15th, so I have no idea why it took all these days just to hop over the Cooper River Bridge!

Congrats!! :)

No, I still haven't received my packet in the mail.

I was also accepted! I'm local so mine came very fast. I had it in my mailbox on Saturday the 17th. I hand carried my reply instead of mailing it and they have already accepted my matriculation fee payment! Super stoked about the Spring!

Great! Where did you submit your acceptance form and matriculation fee to? I wanted to deliver it myself as well just to keep things moving along, but I wasn't sure from the mailing address what the physical address for the right office might be.

I took it to the Office of Enrollment Management. It's in the same building as the Wellness Center on the corner of Courtenay and Bee. I just turned it in at the front desk of OEM and was good to go. It's pretty easy to find; if you go down Courtenay they have 1 hour visitor parking right in front of where the office is. If you can snag a spot, just head right in and up the elevator.
