MUSC Accelerated BSN Spring 2017

Published

Hi everyone!

I'm a pre-nursing student in Charleston, SC hoping to apply for Medical University of South Carolina's Accelerated BSN program for the spring of 2017.

I'm currently completing the pre-requisites at College of Charleston, which doesn't have it's own nursing program.

I'm going to be applying with around 75 hours including the 60 hours of pre-reqs, and expect to have a GPA of about 3.8.

I'm 19, and I'm planning to apply this summer at the end of my sophomore year, but I'm worried about my chances without a previous degree and some experience working in healthcare. I'll have a good number of hospital volunteer hours, but that's it.

Is there anyone who's currently in the program right now, or has a applied before? What do you think my chances of getting in with my expected GPA and just the pre-reqs are?

Thanks!

I think so but I'm not certain.

I got an email!

Hello everyone,

I just received my acceptance letter, they actually send it yesterday evening but i didn't get time to check my email. I just checked and saw my acceptance letter. They also send two financial aid emails.

I haven't recieved anything from them, so I'm assuming I did not get in.

I was rejected. For others still waiting, and for future years-

I know some people received an email about financial aid early on, I never received one, and I had no emails or communications with the school after the materials packet email.

Good luck to anyone still waiting to hear!!!!!

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that :(

I hope that they are giving people feedback on their applications...

I wish you all the best! And congratulations with almost being done with your LPN program

Thank you! It's alright, I had failed a course my freshman year, and due to MUSC's no forgiveness policy it pulled my GPA down, so when I applied, I knew it was a shot in the dark. They don't say on the letter what the reason was, but I'm assuming that was what happened in my case.

I graduate in 5 weeks, and I shouldn't have any problem getting into the ADN program at the school I'm at now. I will probably reapply to MUSC next year for their RN-BSN program.

I hope everyone that gets in has a wonderful experience!!!!! Best of luck to all!
