MUSC Accelerated BSN Spring 2017

Published

Hi everyone!

I'm a pre-nursing student in Charleston, SC hoping to apply for Medical University of South Carolina's Accelerated BSN program for the spring of 2017.

I'm currently completing the pre-requisites at College of Charleston, which doesn't have it's own nursing program.

I'm going to be applying with around 75 hours including the 60 hours of pre-reqs, and expect to have a GPA of about 3.8.

I'm 19, and I'm planning to apply this summer at the end of my sophomore year, but I'm worried about my chances without a previous degree and some experience working in healthcare. I'll have a good number of hospital volunteer hours, but that's it.

Is there anyone who's currently in the program right now, or has a applied before? What do you think my chances of getting in with my expected GPA and just the pre-reqs are?

Thanks!

I hope we hear something this week. I'm getting so anxious to know where I'll be! They found out decisions around this time last year so I would think they are meeting at some point this week. Good luck everyone!

So it looks like they met yesterday the numbers were updated this morning.

In state- in progress 12, 71 pending, 13 accepting, 1 deferring, 46 not offered, 143 total.

Out of state- in progress 17, 26 pending, 5 accepting, 55 not offered, 103 total.

Who is going to be the first to call?

What is the difference between "in progress" and "pending"? Is in progress meaning they haven't been looked at?

Pending is probably just waiting to hear back from the applicant if they are going to accept or turn down the seat.

Thanks for posting the numbers! I tried calling but wasn't able to reach anyone

Npr89mb, thank you so much for posting. I had finally started to calm down yesterday but knowing I should get a notification very soon has me incredibly anxious again. I just called, no answer. Good luck to everyone! I hope mail comes fast!

Good afternoon ALL,

I received information today that letters are being sent out this afternoon!

Good luck to everyone. I live out of state so it will take a few days for me.

Thanks for the info. I tried calling earlier and did not get through. Sounds like you were able to speak to somebody. Best of luck to everybody.

Hi everyone! I called today and was told we could call tomorrow afternoon for confirmation via phone. Good luck to everyone! I just found this thread !

That is great news, especially since I am out of state! Who are we to speak to tomorrow when we call?

Good luck to all out-of-state!! I am an out of state as well, hopefully we all receive good news :)

You can contact Shelly in student services! I don't know the number but I was transferred to her when I called the college of nursing.
