Hi everyone!
I'm a pre-nursing student in Charleston, SC hoping to apply for Medical University of South Carolina's Accelerated BSN program for the spring of 2017.
I'm currently completing the pre-requisites at College of Charleston, which doesn't have it's own nursing program.
I'm going to be applying with around 75 hours including the 60 hours of pre-reqs, and expect to have a GPA of about 3.8.
I'm 19, and I'm planning to apply this summer at the end of my sophomore year, but I'm worried about my chances without a previous degree and some experience working in healthcare. I'll have a good number of hospital volunteer hours, but that's it.
Is there anyone who's currently in the program right now, or has a applied before? What do you think my chances of getting in with my expected GPA and just the pre-reqs are?
Thanks!
I checked earlier today. It says 124 applications are being processed, three applications pending, and 12 applications accepting for in state process. With a total of 139 in state applications. I would really like to know a yes or no. The university has been closed since Friday due to the hurricane but they reopen tomorrow. Let me know what they tell you if you call. BTW it says only one application was declined so far, and it was an out of state application.
Thank you for the update. I was looking at past years, and most regular applicants got their letters around October 22nd. I'm not sure if the comittee has met yet, we are definitely a smaller group than prior years, which is great. I'm assuming the ones accepted just all be priority applicants.

I'm starting to get sick over this! I'm about ready to call and find out if they mailed acceptance or rejection letters yet. Seems like it should be any day now, especially with how small the application pool is. Does anybody live in or near Charleston that can check the computers?
