Hi everyone!
I'm a pre-nursing student in Charleston, SC hoping to apply for Medical University of South Carolina's Accelerated BSN program for the spring of 2017.
I'm currently completing the pre-requisites at College of Charleston, which doesn't have it's own nursing program.
I'm going to be applying with around 75 hours including the 60 hours of pre-reqs, and expect to have a GPA of about 3.8.
I'm 19, and I'm planning to apply this summer at the end of my sophomore year, but I'm worried about my chances without a previous degree and some experience working in healthcare. I'll have a good number of hospital volunteer hours, but that's it.
Is there anyone who's currently in the program right now, or has a applied before? What do you think my chances of getting in with my expected GPA and just the pre-reqs are?
Thanks!
Ok. Im sure it takes them a bit to get all of the applications ironed out. I checked the applicant tracker that has been mentioned on this board before and it said that there were 136 in state applications this past Friday. That doesn't seem like that many compared to years past. Hopefully that is good odds for all of us. I received a financial aid letter from MUSC yesterday in the mail. Now the waiting continues.
I did see that they updated my applicant tracker, most likely meaning they have evaluated my transcripts. I am hoping for an answer by the end of the month. Hurricane Matthew will most likely delay the overall process. All university classes have been cancelled and all offices have been closed until Monday.
