MUSC Accelerated BSN Spring 2017

Published

Hi everyone!

I'm a pre-nursing student in Charleston, SC hoping to apply for Medical University of South Carolina's Accelerated BSN program for the spring of 2017.

I'm currently completing the pre-requisites at College of Charleston, which doesn't have it's own nursing program.

I'm going to be applying with around 75 hours including the 60 hours of pre-reqs, and expect to have a GPA of about 3.8.

I'm 19, and I'm planning to apply this summer at the end of my sophomore year, but I'm worried about my chances without a previous degree and some experience working in healthcare. I'll have a good number of hospital volunteer hours, but that's it.

Is there anyone who's currently in the program right now, or has a applied before? What do you think my chances of getting in with my expected GPA and just the pre-reqs are?

Thanks!

Thank you so much for posting this on here! Lots of information and it'll (hopefully!) be very helpful.

I'm sorry! I shouldn't have assumed. You definitely still stand out though! Hopefully we'll all be classmates someday.

Small world! We used to live close to MCAS Miramar.

No worries! I can totally understand the mix-up.

Here is the immunization form we'll need to have finished. I had to do something similar for my EMT course, and a lot of students had issues with it (especially if they had to get it done through the VA). It ended up taking about a month for everyone to get theirs done. The sooner we get started after we get accepted, the better.

Has anyone heard anything yet?

Nothing yet. Checking every day!

I got my acceptance letter in the mail today! good luck to everyone!

Did you apply priority or regular? Congrats!!!!

Congrats ewilliams477!!! What were your stats when you applied?

Thank you!!

Soo I am out of state, and I did apply priority!

I had a 3.86 cumulative GPA, I just graduated college in May.

My science GPA was a 3.96, I really didn't have much work experience at all.

I had 200 hours interning with a nurse practitioner at an internal medicine clinic, and then I was a teaching assistant for

anatomy and physiology for two years in college! and thank you so much!!!

Thank you! I applied priority !
