Hi everyone!
I'm a pre-nursing student in Charleston, SC hoping to apply for Medical University of South Carolina's Accelerated BSN program for the spring of 2017.
I'm currently completing the pre-requisites at College of Charleston, which doesn't have it's own nursing program.
I'm going to be applying with around 75 hours including the 60 hours of pre-reqs, and expect to have a GPA of about 3.8.
I'm 19, and I'm planning to apply this summer at the end of my sophomore year, but I'm worried about my chances without a previous degree and some experience working in healthcare. I'll have a good number of hospital volunteer hours, but that's it.
Is there anyone who's currently in the program right now, or has a applied before? What do you think my chances of getting in with my expected GPA and just the pre-reqs are?
Thanks!
The chart didn't specify but I'm assuming the number accepted right now is mostly priority acceptance? I'm not sure how many normally get in priority. The regular admission applicants still have until sept 15th to get everything in by (I think) so after that the numbers will probably be going up quickly. The chart just shows the totals for all applications received and accepted.
Sorry I have been so slow at replying to this forum. But yes, if you apply for priority and do not make the cut, then they roll your application over to regular admission. I am one of those people who applied priority because my stats were so close to the cut off line. I am extremely nervous to find out because this is my second time around applying and do not want to get denied again.. I am hoping the priority students that are accepted find out within the next week or so because then I will know mine got pushed to regular admission. UGHHH the waiting process is terrible!!

Yup, that's the stats from this morning. I'm not sure on when the letters start going out though... I hope soon! I'm so excited and incredibly nervous at the same time!
