I am currently in the process of applying to Musc's Absn program for fall 2018! I was wondering if anyone else is applying and what you stats are/will be before the application is due!
Hey, does anyone know how much the program costs for in-state students? I got my acceptance letter, but I have not received the informational packet in the mail yet. When I look online about the cost, I can't find a clear value. Is it saying it is $7,811 per semester, so it's $31,244 total for tuition?
It's listed as $26,428 for tuition and fees at the link below. It is my understanding from what I've read that they do offer some scholarships and some private loans set up through the college or it might be through MUSC itself. I've also been looking into the Nurse Corps thing for funding. I imagine since many of their students already have a bachelor's degree, they have some kind of system for funding options. I haven't been able to confirm this but I did read online where one individual didn't get any scholarships because of their EFC but at the last minute the school gave them a private loan through MUSC and I think they were able to attend. I'm anxiously waiting for the welcome packet too and hoping it will have a lot more information.
Hey, I tried posting the link but it wouldn't let me. I believe the cost for the 1st year for tuition and fees only is $26,428. On their website they give a break down per year but again, this site wouldn't let me share the link. I am also under the impression that they give out some scholarships and have private loans through them to help with funding since they know many students are coming in with a bachelor's already. One person on here didn't receive any scholarships because of their EFC but ended up at the last minute being offered an musc private loan to help with expenses. I'm anxiously waiting to gert more information as well.
Thanks for responding! I see it now. It's nearly $35,000 for tuition and fees. I hope we get the packet by the end of week! Do you think you'll take out a loan from the school?
I plan on accepting any thing they offer me. Scholarships are preferred if i can find enough but it is more important that I can get this program paid for so I have no problems taking out loans. It will definitely be worth it because my end goal is a DNP and this program shortens my time to a BSN by a year or two and I'm ready to be in the field I've always wanted to be in lol.
I'm still waiting for my packet too. I believe they often send out emails before they put the packages in the mail so I'm thinking they may have put them in on Monday but that's just suspected. I have no evidence to back that up haha. I live in Charleston so in theory I should get it pretty quickly and will update when I do!
So the loans would all be through MUSC instead of taking out loans from a bank or other service?
I honestly have no idea it was just something I read on this message board from a past student. They were vague on details. I tried starting a new post hoping someone would provide more information but I haven't heard anything back. They just mentioned after not getting any scholarships due to their EFC and the fact that we can only borrow $12,500 annually from federal loans, they were planning on deferring but then a few weeks later the school had contacted them about a private loan through MUSC. I don't know any of the details not have I been able to find out what happened but that at least gives me some hope for financing options :)
Hey, how do ya'll feel about the online courses for the program? Just seeking opinions. I tried calling today to get more information about the plan of study, but the person who answered did know about the courses and said the person who could answer my questions would not be back until Monday...

Hi guys, I just wanted to give my update. I was accepted to the Fall 2018 ABSN cohort via email on March 8. I'm out of state from NC. I'm waiting to hear on several other schools (all over the states), but MUSC is definitely in my top 3 choices.
