I am currently in the process of applying to Musc's Absn program for fall 2018! I was wondering if anyone else is applying and what you stats are/will be before the application is due!

Same I am nervous as well! What's your GPA and major from undergrad? Also, are you applying to any other schools?

I'm a public health studies major with a 3.5 GPA and 3.8 prerequisite GPA... Although I volunteered in a hospital for the last 3 years, I have no paid healthcare experience

You don't have bad stats! I am around the same I have a 3.6 and probably around the same prereq GPA but I have a 4.0 in my science prereq's so hopefully that'll help a little! Are you from South Carolina I know that helps a little too, I am not from SC though and I have minimal volunteer experience around 50 hrs.

I would be an out-of-state student from NC, which I've heard makes it a little harder for someone to get in

Hi! I'm applying for fall absn too! My cumulative GPA is about a 3.5 and prerequisite is about a 3.4. I've been working as a CNA part-time for 9 months, am a CPR/BLS instructor, and do physical fitness and body composition testing through a club at my school. I'm out of state and will be coming from California.

Hello all! I'm planning to apply for Fall. I have a previous BA in Theatre with a 3.5 GPA. My prereq GPA is 4.0 at the moment, but I'm currently taking Physio and Micro (and having nervous breakdowns about once a week - lol). I have 110+ volunteer hours at hospitals and 40+ hours volunteering with a prison meditation program. I also have shadowing experience in 4 different areas of nursing. I don't have any work experience in a hospital, but I did work briefly as a "standardized patient" (an actor that helps with med student training) and I currently work as a Chemistry and Anatomy tutor at my school. So I'm really hoping all of this will be enough to get me accepted! My second choice right now is George Washington in VA. I live in California now but want to move back closer to family!

On the application, there is a spot to put test scores but on the website it says no test is required. Do you guys know if it looks better if we put test scores? I've tried calling the school but can never get a hold of anyone.

No, I would not worry about test scores. I do not think it would impact your admission at all, since it is not required! :) From the website, I get the impression that your GPA is the biggest deciding factor of admission and then the supplemental materials, such as letters of rec, are the last items to be considered. Hope this helps.
