Multiple jobs???

Nurses LPN/LVN

Do any LPNs hold more than one position? Like a full time position at one place and a part time at another? Is it possible to hold more than one position?

I dont recommend working like this. 2 jobs 16 hours a day, etc. Where is the quality care? We are humans after all and if we dont have rest, what type of care are we giving???

I work 8 hours, 7 days a week. Been doing it a month now, I'm pretty tired :/

Southern_lpn is that at one job or two different jobs?

I have 2 jobs. I do agency nursing and home health. I usually work 13 days well..nights straight then off 1 or 2 days.

i have 2 jobs as well, 20 hrs at a SNF, and 40+ hrs at a plasma center- per week, it gets frustrating but you gotta make a routine- and do lots of fun stuff off of work

I'm such a job hopper that I decided to keep my foot wedged in one door, I work 6 days at home health (4 Friday's & q other Saturday). Just got hired at a nursing staffing agency doing corrections in the pharmacy. Looking to do 5 hrs a month or 8 11-7am shifts. Either way, I'm technically working 2 weeks out of the entire month making over $2k. If this isn't encouragement to get my RN I don't know what is! I do it for the schedule flexibility & my husband works ft. Just not enough income if I were to be completely full time student.

i was told by one of my friends that she works, five 8 hour shifts at one facility, and on her days off she works two 12 hour shifts per week for a total of 64 hours a week and she takes home over $5,000 a month, but she is never able to hang out

I cant work like that. I need breaks. Unless i have to work to pay for my tuition... For example working 16 hrs over the weekend to pay for school then i gotta do it. Otherwise i wouldn't recommend that type of schedule.

2 part time, only because no one is offering full time right now...

I had two jobs once I stopped working full time. I had a budgeted job in the MICU at a large teaching hospital (8 hours a week) and picked up contingent hours in the SICU and the CCU. I also started working contingent for the Childrens' Hospital for their PICU and NICU. If I wanted to, I could get overtime every week, though by that time I didn't want to work 40 hours a week anymore...hence why I retired in the first place!

A lot of nurses that I worked with when I was still in critical care took other jobs but remained a part of the contingent staff to keep up their skills and to earn some extra money.

I know this post is late but...

I currently work full time as a PHN. My role is mainly to work as a nurse consultant and coordinator. Love my job! 7-5, weekends off, every other Friday off. Very flexible...come in late, leave late.

So I got a job offer as a part time psych RN three nights a week night shift 11p- 7a. The nurse manager told me, it would be mostly chart auditing and the majority of the patients would be sleeping, if someone needs meds/attention, I would obviously follow protocol/MD orders. I flat out told her I have no psych RN experience , she said its fine and they train new grads often and I would get a 10 day orientation.

So, my question is what does it mean to audit charts and does it seem like a good deal?
