    Hello. I work I for a private practice telepsych company. You can be located anywhere, but must be licensed (RN and APRN) in the state you are seeing patients in. We serve CA, IL, and NC. Some PMHNPs are licensed in multiple states.

    HI. I did get into Rush University DNP APHN program after working 2 years in Public Health. At the same time I got a job in the ER (3 months in). Rush U allowed me to defer for one year. So I'm seeing where the wind takes me :)

    If you have your bachelors and PHN cert apply! Your don't need hospital experience to go into public health. I got hired as a new grad and since you have public health experience you are really marketable!!

    The cost of living is very high in the Bay Area . I actually knew someone who lived in SoCal and worked in NorCal. He would stay in a cheap hotel three nights a weeks and make BANK then drive back home in SoCal for MUCH cheaper rent. LOL
