MTSAC's lottery number (2010)

U.S.A. California

Published

I just received my lottery number and I am number 926! I applied November 2009.

I just wanted to put the information on here so we can see how far we are along the list. I know that some people will pick other programs, change majors, etc and hoping my number will go down. But 929 is very high and seems that I wont get in for years.

Here are the numbers that I got some someone else.

725

850

Anyone out there?

I just got my letter and I am an alternate for the spring 2011. I will be attending the orientation in mid janurary. Do I have a good chance of getting in for the spring 2011?

My previous number was 101.

I called today to find out what the cut off was for acceptance letters, and she said that she sent out 60 acceptance letters and 60 alternate letters. She said that if those that were accepted don't respond or defer, their spot will go to those who were selected as alternates. I am really excited for you zeroburnz:yeah: Keep your fingers crossed!

Let me see if I get this right, 41 students who got accepted have to defer or not respond for me to get in?

Does anyone know the average number of alternate who get accepted for each semester?

Thanks everyone!

I think so...but remember, there are always quite a few that defer or have been accepted at another program and still have their name on Mt Sac's waiting list...until they get their acceptance letter and have to remove it...it is possible for you to get in.

Remember, last time our numbers dropped by 93. Sorry, I don't know the average, though.

zeroburz3, did you find out whether you were accepted into the program? Or will you be an alternate for the orientation?

Also, do you know how many people they had to move through to get their lucky 60 acceptances?

The "waiting" part is the hardest!

Hello Everyone,

For those that are starting in the Spring term: Has anyone received orientation packets? The nursing department said they would be mailed out in December. I have not received anything. Just curious.......

DD- :)

Jewelpassion-I can't respond to your private message because I don't have enough posts to qualify. Can you email me at [email protected]? Thanks. I can't wait to talk since it looks like we might be starting in the same semester. Talk to you soon!

Okay, does anyone know how deep Mt. Sac went this semester to get the 60 they needed? I heard they definitely had to dig into a few alternates. I'm just curious what my number will be this time around. It went from 910, to 458, to 265. So about a 50% drop each time, but I figure the closer I get, the less the drop rate.

I spoke to the Nursing Department yesterday and was told that they go to about 120 to get the 60 they ultimately need. However, the 60 alternates that aren't selected go back into the pool. She wouldn't tell me what she predicted that would be. I'm 166 BEFORE the Spring students were selected so hopefully I'll make it into Fall 2011. She told me that they are really trying to pull off getting letters out by the end of February but that they wanted to flush out all the students who declined, deferred, etc. so that the letters that they send out are as accurate as possible. I hope this all makes sense. Anyone else think they're starting in the Fall?

I heard that some girl who was in the 120's who was not officially in at orientation was called to get an official seat. I hope this is true. If you are at 166, I'm pretty sure you are a lock for Fall unless Jerry Brown cuts more junior college funding. I also spoke to the nursing department yesterday who said the girl who is responsible for the letters is out of vacation until the 20th so we probably won't see it until the 1st week of March. Best of luck to you! Let me know if you hear anything.

Hi! exciting to hear about everyone starting in Fall. I will also be starting in Fall, i began to read my nursing fundamentals book, so far so good. I'm still lacking motivation though, but i'm determined to push forward, i have a lot on my plate right now so it's been hard thinking about school.

Well, hope to get to know those that are starting in Fall!! orientation will be in June and everything will be due in the month of July, physicals and all that other fun stuff, on the avg about $900 for everything.

Good Luck!!

ATTENTION ALTERNATES: When you received your letter for oriention did the letter state what number you were in terms of how many other alternates were ahead of you or was it just a general letter?
