MTSAC's lottery number (2010)
70% overall. means you can get 65% in math and 90% in English...but make sure your overall is 70. The Hesi practice book was very helpful...but I only studied for 3 hrs prior to the test and passed. LOL I didn't care for getting a 93%, I just wanted to pass bc Mtsac does not base on score as point system. good luck

MTSAC's lottery number (2010)
I only went down about 60 person. 270-ish now. means another 2 yrs wait. I am rounding these numbers (-5/+5) was 926, 333, now 270. Applied Nov 2009. hey gang, think of this.... My wait would be another two years to get in their program, plus 2 years in their program, .5 yr wait while I applied = 4.5ys to complete my adn degree if all goes according to plan. If you have above avg science GPA and overall, I suggest you apply to other schools that base on GPA and/or point system. good luck.

The TEAS post was for Heartbeat... Elle71, since you live in rancho ... how come you didn't apply around that area?

Riverside Community College (RCC)
Heartbeats, RCC currently invites top students with the highest science GPA to take the TEAS at RCC. Note that these students are not in to the program yet. If you are not invited, you will have to go some where else. For more info, it is on the RCC RN website. I would apply first and wait for an email about the TEAS invitation (if you were invited or not). If you will be applying this fall (sept/oct), you will take your TEAS beginning of Nov. I I think most colleges only take up to 1yr(TEAS score). If it's older than that, you will have to retake. If you can take the TEAS now, do it. But do well.

RCC does not list their acceptance pts but I will tell you what I heard and read. Spring 2010 - Read that some people got in with 80pts, some didn't. I know one person with 75 pts did not get in. Fall 2010 - The nursing tech guy said if you have 90+ you have a really good chance. If you have at least 80pts, you may or may not get in but not guaranteed. It really depends on each semester. This semester, they only accepted 60 students. Last semester...I think it was 80, but more for sure. Sorry, but I wouldn't drive that far. I need the time to sleep and sleep, study and then study, see my family and save gas money because nursing school is expensive!!!. CC is a lot cheaper and I think it's worth the wait. I am glad I stuck it out and stayed with CC, whereas I can apply to entry level msn or bsn. (Taking it step by step):twocents::twocents::twocents:

I got in RCC tooooo!!!!! I was their alternate's list last semester. I got denied from Saddleback college today but got good news from RCC via email. Saddleback College is sooo hard to get in. Most ppl on their forum have a 4.0 gpa. Yeah, so 4 of us so far?
-
Anyone applying at Saddleback college?
I received a letter today. I did not get in Saddleback but I got good news from RCC (riverside). I got in their RN program. :) But hey, 15pts is still GREAT!!!!! Keep on trying ppl. I think the point system will help give some diversity into the RN program. RCC is based on pt system similar like SBC. GOOD LUCK!

Anyone applying at Saddleback college?
Still waiting for my letter. I have 15 pts. I don't think I got in

Riverside Community College (RCC)
Yes, but do u know if they cut their enrollment? Most schools did like Mtsac cut 109 to 60 per semester. What about RCC? Do they still take 80 students per semester? If they did, then that means it's more competitive!

Applied Mtsac (walnut, ca) Nov 2009- It is lottery. Was at number 926, now 366. Applied to RCC Fall 2009- Alternate's list, was not chosen APplied to Citrus College Spring 2010- Did not get in (Highly Competitive) Applied to Saddleback College Spring 2010- The letters were sent out but I know I did not get in. Most ppl got in were 4.0, and I know that one 4.0 is on an alternate's list.(Highly Competitive) Most of the schools I applied for were based on academics. I am somewhere in the 3.5 gpa mark and this is competition! Only Rcc is points system. It's based on academics, for. language, health field experience, BA/BS degree, life experiences...etc. This is why I applied for MTsac. It is lottery so everybody that meets the reqs. gets a number and guaranteed in their program. I have like 3 yrs wait right now. But I just enrolled in a CNA program and is gonna work my way up until a RN school wants me in. This way I don't have to feel like a complete looser and stressed out trying to get in a RN school. :)

From experience..... I got 80pts last semester was on their alternate's list. This other chic got 80pts but she got in!!! I went to the 1st orientation (required) as an alternate and required to attend a 2nd meeting and first day of school in case someone broke their arm or something. I didn't attend the 2nd meeting and first day of school. I just know that there were about 15-20 students on the alternates list. On the first orientation, they had about 2 (I think) spots for alternates..but I was not the lucky one. Good luck students! This will be my second time reapplying with the same amount of pts. I honestly feel I will not get in this time, not even as an alternate.

MTSAC's lottery number (2010)
First of all, thanks Billy for the updates and I hope you the best 2 yrs of your life! Twee- I also received my 2nd letter today. I am assuming you also applied Nov 2009, the same semester when I applied. I was number 926 now I am 366! Wow, very close to your number 358. We might be classmates :) It seems that the number went down faster than I thought. Within one semester, I passed 560 applicants :) SO, number 366/120 (students per yr)= 3 yrs wait! I think our wait will be much sooner than 3 yrs. Maybe a total of at least 2 yrs. ??? FINGERS CROSSED!

MTSAC's lottery number (2010)
Our sciences only expires when applying to a new school. With mtsac, you only get one lottery number, so you are safe with your sciences. I was very discourage at number 900's (almost 8yrs wait) but reading this forum made me feel a lot better. It seems like every letter (2x a yr), the cut down was about 50% or around that. I hope this form continues and each person that posted their lottery number will tell us updates and when they got in. I am soooo glad I started this forum :)
