  1. I wouldn't worry too much on the anatomy or physiology. There were only a few questions. English was basic comprehension and grammar. I would just refresh yourself on fractions(multiplication, subtraction, division etc). Like I said, it really wasn't that difficult. I was an alternate for the Fall but was not called, so I will be starting this Spring. Unfortunately I have to sit through the 3 days of orientation again. I applied about 3 years ago and finally was called so the Hesi I took a while back is still good
  2. Nah, it wasn't that hard. I scored a 91% on the test without really studying. Most the questions are pretty straightforward unlike the old TEAS. Best of luck
  3. Oops sorry for the confusion RedGyal, my orientation is actually on the 21-23rd of June.
  4. Orientation is 3 days. 18,19 and 20th. Did they let you know how many LVN's are waiting? Funny thing is, I work in admissions at a private school that is slated to offer an LVN program this summer and just got approved for a BSN program but they haven't decided on which one of our campuses will be offering it. The nursing board will no longer approve any new adn bridge program so the JC's are really the only option for it. Just be thankful you finished your prereq's. Most LVN's don't even get that far.
  5. Hi RedGyal,, I don't think that you are anywhere near on getting in via the generic way, as it took me a few years just to be an alternate. But, for the RN bridge, you may have a good chance. My friend is enrolled in the spring class and said the students are dropping like flies due to pharmacology. The more that drops, the better your chances are the bridge each semester. Best of luck to you!
  6. So I got my letter as an alternate last week. I was surprised to get it being that I am 148 deep and they only need 60. I must be one of the last to receive the letter for Fall alternates. Anyone receive on that's past 148?

  8. Well congrats to you! I'm very happy that you got in early. I wish it were the same for me.
  9. Ann, how did your number drop 191 spots when mine only dropped 117 spots. You were only 18 spots ahead of me and know you are 92 spots. This is nuts....
  10. I just received my letter this morning 3.12.11 and my number dropped from 265 down by 117 to 148. It looks like I won't make this Fall session unless some kind of miracle happens. Spring 2012 is in the cards for me! Best of luck to those who made it for this Fall.
  11. K, folks, based on the rumor mill, they had to go over 120+ students to get the 60 they need for Spring 11. So originally I went from 910 back in Fall 2009, to 458 to the Spring in 2010, to 265 this past fall. My guess now is that I'm around the 130 to 140 on the waitlist if the 120+ rumor is correct. Word is they were suppose to mail the letters out this week. Let me know if anyone has any updates or better Intel.
  12. ATTENTION ALTERNATES: When you received your letter for oriention did the letter state what number you were in terms of how many other alternates were ahead of you or was it just a general letter?

  14. I heard that some girl who was in the 120's who was not officially in at orientation was called to get an official seat. I hope this is true. If you are at 166, I'm pretty sure you are a lock for Fall unless Jerry Brown cuts more junior college funding. I also spoke to the nursing department yesterday who said the girl who is responsible for the letters is out of vacation until the 20th so we probably won't see it until the 1st week of March. Best of luck to you! Let me know if you hear anything.
  15. Okay, does anyone know how deep Mt. Sac went this semester to get the 60 they needed? I heard they definitely had to dig into a few alternates. I'm just curious what my number will be this time around. It went from 910, to 458, to 265. So about a 50% drop each time, but I figure the closer I get, the less the drop rate.
