Mt. Sac Nursing Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone,

I decided to make this post to connect with others who will be applying to Mt. Sac's program for the Spring of 2019. After calculating my points for the multicriteria screening I'm currently at 52 points before the Hesi. I'm scheduled to take the Hesi on the 31st. Really hoping to end up with 77-80 points, I've read that the cutoff is usually around 77 points so I'm praying that will be the case this year as well. Although I saw a comment on the Fall 2018 thread & someone got in with 72 points as an alternate. I'll also be applying to Chaffey, San Bernardino Valley & .

Good luck everyone!

I would say the Teas is longer as far as the number of questions & more in depth than the Hesi. Imo it is harder but if you study using the momentrix study book and the ATI Teas book you'll be good. I would give yourself at least a month of studying before taking it.

Yes. I am slowly starting to study...since I have about a month before I take the test. Another week before we possibly hear back! :)

You'll do great! Happy studying! Hopefully it is only another week that we have to wait. I was reading previous years threads & it seems like they got emails in late September/ early October & then an official acceptance until November... So long! It seems as though Mt. Sac might be the last school to give me a response.

Also out of curiosity what has everyone heard about this program? Essentially all I've heard is that they receive the most applications than the other schools around my area (Rancho Cucamonga/San Bernardino county). I've never met or heard from anyone who's a graduate of this program.

Thanks! Yea the other posts do seem like they received their emails later but I think they applied later as well. The waiting game realllly sucks. haha. Well its good to have all options open.

As for the program, I do hear good things about it as the instructors really do want you succeed and help as long as you ask for it. I know a few people who graduated from the program and they seemed to really enjoy it.

Hi there! I am a previous Mt SAC Nursing Student. I completed first semester but had to withdrawal due to family obligations. To be completely honest Mt. SAC is definitely a top notch program. The Nursing staff really wants each and every Nursing Student to succeed. With that said it will be the most intense experience of your life. You literally need to start studying now. I recommend finding out the Nursing text and Pharm text ASAP. All of you will most likely get in. Your scores are great. Start out lining the chapters. Have that completed. NIA covers about half the text. N1B covers second half. You will cover pretty much cover the entire Pharm text except PEDs. Having this completed will allow you time to review concepts over and over. There will not be much time to read due to clinicals, Nursing Plans, Skills practice and all the crying involved.

Hi-

Thank you for posting! I am sorry to hear that you had to withdraw but I understand obligations must come first at times. Do you plan on going back to nursing school? I was wondering what semester you applied for and what the lowest cut off score was to be in the nursing program at the time? I am waiting anxiously for a response regarding a counselors appointment which I am sure others are as well. Before I make any attempt in starting to prepare for the program I guess I want some sort of light at the end of the tunnel confirmation since I have other schools that I am applying too. I do hear really good things about the program and I really do hope I get in. :)

I apologize for butting in, but my friend told me the point system changed very recently? Would anyone mind chiming in?

Hello,

How recently is your friend talking about? To tell you the truth I am not sure how much it has changed but if you do go to the Mt. Sac nursing page then there is a section where it will say multi criteria screening which breaks down the points that are given for each portion of the criteria. Hope this helps. :)

Man am I glad I came across this post. I applied for the spring as well and I am anxiously waiting to receive an email from my sac. Started to feel like I wasn't accepted:sorry:. Best of luck to us all

Hello!

I think we all feel anxious, they are saying 2 weeks after the application deadline but then it could be delayed. If you hear anything let us know. :)

Everyone !!! Check your emails. I received an email from the nursing program stating that I am a candidate. I received the email today at 3pm. Best of wishes.

Same! I also received the email today stating I am a candidate! Good luck to everyone!
