Hello everyone,

I decided to make this post to connect with others who will be applying to Mt. Sac's program for the Spring of 2019. After calculating my points for the multicriteria screening I'm currently at 52 points before the Hesi. I'm scheduled to take the Hesi on the 31st. Really hoping to end up with 77-80 points, I've read that the cutoff is usually around 77 points so I'm praying that will be the case this year as well. Although I saw a comment on the Fall 2018 thread & someone got in with 72 points as an alternate. I'll also be applying to Chaffey, San Bernardino Valley & .

Thank you! I would love to hear what you find out. I made an appointment but it won't until after I take my TEAS just in case... I tried calling the nursing department and they couldn't tell me what the cut off points were for Spring applicants. :(

Ahhh congrats to everyone who got an email! I didn't receive anything so I'm sure my points came out lower than expected:( If I'm calculating things correctly I calculated 72 points since I did worse than I expected on the Hesi.

I really doubt it. It's just weird because I saw someone else get an email with 72 points. I know they also go by when you applied. At this point I'm just really going to hope I get into one of the schools closer to my house.

Has anyone had any trouble making a counseling appointment? I just called to schedule my appointment and was told that I couldn't schedule it today and I should call back Monday. Seems kind of odd. I also identified myself as a candidate to the nursing program.

Yeah I just called the counseling department today and they told me nursing students should try calling on Monday. The lady sounded rude too. I don't believe her at all. I tried making an appointment online and it says everything is reserved too. Ugh I should've called sooner. I'm gonna try again in a few hours.

I'm sorry to hear this. :( You did apply before me too! Maybe wait a few days and then call the Nursing Department and inquire about it? I wish you the best of luck!

So yesterday I had no luck. So today I decided to visit the counseling department in person early in the morning and I was able to make my counseling appointment. I just find it weird that I was not able to make the counseling appointment over the phone. I would try doing it in person.

Hey guys! So I spoke with someone at the counseling department today, and as I mentioned earlier, they said they couldn't make any appointments until next week. I asked how other students could make an appointment earlier during this week and why we couldn't now, and they explained that there was a miscommunication with the nursing department and how some students have not received an email yet, so they've decided to start taking appointments next week!

SO good news for those who haven't received the email yet, there are still people who have yet to receive one so keep checking your inboxes this weekend! As always, I wish you all the best and good luck. :)

Hello Smc_17. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Yes! I am happy to say I am ready to go back to Nursing School. I have been completing my application package and had to study for the TEAS VI exam. I am applying to a Forsyth Tech ADN Spring 2019, in NC. My points are very competitive at this time. I will know in a few weeks. I applied for Mt. SAC Nursing in 2016. The process seems identical. At the time the High points were 94 and cut off was 73. I had 73, Yikes! I originally made spot #84. Mt. SAC accepts the 60 highest applicants and 30 alternates. After my counseling apt was alternate #26. I thought I had absolutely no hope. But I was invited to orientation and told to come no matter what, because there are many applicants that do not show up or accept other programs. So I made it through 5 days of orientation not knowing my status until the last day. At the end of last orientation day everyone gets their official acceptance and medical evaluation form etc. I was given alternate #6 at that time. I was so excited! About 2 weeks before the program started I was officially offered a seat!! Best day ever!

Hi NursingHopeful95. Check your spam folder. I actually never received my email either. About a week later I just happened to check my spam folder and it was there! It was so crazy strange. It happened to a couple of people in our class. Good luck! Stay positive, you are close.

I checked my spam folder but nothing :( which is weird. I must have miscalculated my points because apparently others with the points that I applied with have received emails.
