I've got about 2 more paragraphs to finish on the paper for this class. OMG, I hate this class. I feel like I'm writing about things I completely do not agree with or believe in. Bleh.

Hang in there! I got through it, and you will too. :)

Every MSN program has a similar course -- in my B&M program, it was called something about "trends and issues" in contemporary nursing. We had to do (among other assignments over the semester) in-class debates -- the instructors provided a list of topics, and you signed up for the "pro" or "con" team on the topic of your choice. I intentionally signed up for a position that I don't personally believe or support precisely because constructing and defending a position you don't personally believe is a better intellectual and educational experience than defending a position you already hold. (And ended up being voted the most effective debater and "winner" of the entire debate experience by the rest of the class because I made such a compelling case for a position that none of the students in the class agreed with.) It's easy to write about topics you care about and positions you support -- the educational piece of the process (and a useful skill) is being able to write cogently and effectively about topics you don't support or care about. Best wishes!

My problem with his class was when checking it on Turnitin and receiving a 32% match. Well, hello! They ask us to copy and paste results from a personality test website. That took up two pages of my paper. That's probably 25% of the 32%. Ugh!

I don't know how long your total paper is, but mine was 14 pages and my Turnitin score was 10%. Maybe expand a little more in other sections so it's not 1/4 of your paper?

Mine is 13 pages. Did you copy and paste the whole result from the personality test? I'm attempting to delete the paragraphs of the results and just actually just pasting the result without the description.

Ok. That fixed it. Paper submitted!

I think I did the personality test as a separate attachment, so it wasn't part of the actual paper. Can't remember.

Woohoo! Passed! All 4.0's!

Oh my gosh. I am taking this class now and I hate it with a passion that I don't have words for.

I am am not a spiritual person at all. I like science and information. This course is asking us to build a spiritual connection with our patients. I don't want to build a spiritual connection with my patients. To me, if I were a spiritual person, that seems to be a very personal thing and not something I want to share with the public. It feels creepy, like it crosses a personal boundary between the caregiver and the nurse. It all seems to new age-y. Not my cup of tea.

Just st ant wait for it to be over.

I actually love this class. it has been a refreshing change of pace.

The reading for this class does not address the pre-test At ALL!!! I HATE this class as well. This is an excellent example of the disaster that occures when you have people who write questions and don't base them on your cariculum material.
