moving abroad

:o everyone on the uk thread seems to be thinking of moving abroad! Must admit the thought has crossed my mind, and I wonder how easy it would be!are we so bad in the uk though, makes me a wee bit sad that everyone seems so discontent(including me at times!!):uhoh21: could we provide more support for each other in issues that affect us in the UK?:uhoh3:just my "two pence worth!"

I am an American RN who's visited England twice now with my SO. He spent most of his life there before immigrating here, mainly for financial reasons. After I was seduced by the novelty of living abroad in England and wanting to move there to work as a nurse in a different medical setting and to be near his family, he adamantly put his foot down and said, "No way...I'm spoiled to being an American!" Didn't fully realize what he meant until I had time to ponder this for a while and after the second visit I understand...BUT I'd still move there in a heartbeat. He's spoiled to the climate and the upwardly mobileness of the nation. I love England for many reasons. I don't know if nursing there would be something I could do as it seems to pay much better here. Just my two cents worth. He's unbudgeable about it so unless I ditch him(that's not gonna happen!) I'm firmly planted in the US. Off topic a bit, sorry. Just wanted to let you all know how I understand some of what you are feeling about wanting to relocate, except backwards, in a manner of speaking! LOL!

nice to hear your comments, nursing in the UK is probably much different to what you are doing and in some ways I am dreading the move a bit but hopefully will get a good orientation which will enable me to find my feet
