This is a new thread for anyone that has applied to the Mount St. Mary's College Accelerated BSN program in Los Angeles for 2010 entry.
This is my second application for admission since I wasn't offered admission for Fall 2009. Did anyone hear anything back yet for Spring 2010? Is there an interview process? I have read conflicting information on this topic. I also applied to Samuel Merritt in the Bay Area (also turned down twice to 2 programs for Fall 2009 entry). They wont be sending out admission offers until February for March start dates!! Would love to hear from fellow nursing school hopefuls )
Good luck to all you!!

Hi guys-I'm new to the thread, but I interviewed on Monday morning too. My interview only lasted 10 minutes-yikes! That could be really good or really bad. She said I would get a decision letter next week.
Thanks for sharing that information with us. I am very nervous about tomorrow as well!
For those that interviewed, do you mind sharing some of the questions that were asked? Did they ask if we have ever been put in an ethical situation? Or was it more along the lines of 'how did we get here'?
Thanks and good luck to everyone. I have on my calendar a picture of fingers crossed for the end of next week.
Hi sugarlips,
My interview was really quick and the questions were quite general. I didn't do anything to prepare (mostly because I had no idea what to expect), and I think it came out more natural that way. She asked me to tell her about myself and why I want to be a nurse. I was also questioned about my essay, how I feel about going back to school, etc....... honestly I blacked out for most of it. haha. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll do great!
LOL I saw Sex and the City too… right after my interview! It was a fun and mindless way to relax with my girlfriends.
Not sure if I rocked the interview… I mean it was only 10 minutes long! Like I said, I pretty much blacked out. It was over before I thought it began. (wish4msmc: you said yours was 10 min too – glad we're not the only ones!)
Pauliwankenobi....worst part is that I finished that paper first for the old professor and then the new professor said he didn't like it and it was all wrong. I was like *** the old professor didn't have any issues, but since he didn't grade it before he died I have to redo it. I am so deterred by this class....I don't like the new professor and don't want to do anymore papers for him. He is hard core teaching this class like it is a grad school course. I am wondering if they got someone new or if it is still S. P. Can you let me know?
Paul or someone else, I'm really interested in this question as well. I just got my clearance to start the class and haven't even received my books yet.
TinyBiz-I'm so glad your interview was short too! The last cohort posted that their interviews were about 30 minutes long, so I was worried. My interview questions were somewhat general as well, but I think they were different than yours-she didn't ask about my essay at all. I think they gear them toward each person, so no one has anything to worry about-just be yourself :).
When I got there, there were a few different interviews going on at the same time in different rooms. So I think the questions really depend on who you get to interview with. Just something to keep in mind
I wasn't asked about an ethical dilemma, even though I had an answer prepared just in case! She asked me why I want to be a nurse, about any experience i've had, grades, classes in progress, other responsibilities/obligations, etc. And also what I do when I'm stressed out or when life gets crazy. My interview was a little bit longer but I also asked a lot of questions about the program and things specific to my situation.
Vandalena- keep the tags on!! Put your money into tuition when you get accepted!!
Now that I had my interview, I am so antsy about finding out if I got in or not. The anticipation is driving me crazy! Good luck to everyone who is applying.
