This is a new thread for anyone that has applied to the Mount St. Mary's College Accelerated BSN program in Los Angeles for 2010 entry.
This is my second application for admission since I wasn't offered admission for Fall 2009. Did anyone hear anything back yet for Spring 2010? Is there an interview process? I have read conflicting information on this topic. I also applied to Samuel Merritt in the Bay Area (also turned down twice to 2 programs for Fall 2009 entry). They wont be sending out admission offers until February for March start dates!! Would love to hear from fellow nursing school hopefuls )
Good luck to all you!!

And don't forget about boring. Let me look and see if that was the old professor or new one.......yep that is it...T. F. was the professor that died. Do either match up??? Wondering if they are posting the new persons name yet. Please let me know as I am not eager to take this class. They really judge you on your beliefs and expect you to know the Bible like you do anatomy.
Have you turned in any papers yet?
Those are great odds considering the May cohort had over 300 applications and 100 interviews for 40 spots!!
I am currently in the ABSN program and remember really preparing for my interview b/c it made me feel better. Everyone is different though. If you feel less nervous if I am prepared, just think back on your past experiences so you can have a bank of memories to refer to when asked questions. Go over your goal statement and maybe review some basic interview questions. I actually found a great list of prep questions on All Nurses by searching "nursing school interview questions"
They asked me about an ethical dilemma that I experienced and how I handled it. And they asked why nursing? why now? what do you know about nursing? what do you expect from this program? My interview was 30 minutes long, but this was in Jan for the May cohort.
Good luck to all of you!! Soon enough, our cohort will be selling your cohort books for your first term!!!
I had my interview today, I think it went well! She said they will interview about 60 people for this cohort, sounds like we have a great chance of getting in if we made it this far! Good luck everyone!
Who interviewed you? What time were you there? I may have seen you. I was there at 11am, but my appt wasn't until 11:40. The person who interview me was TOUGH! She asked me every single question ever posted on allnurses.com. I don't feel she liked me because I gave real answers instead of cookie cutter answers. But, I was me and I don't regret it. She said we wouldn't know until the end of June. Totally different from what everyone else is saying. I had the shorter lady with reddish very short hair interview me. She was a professional interviewer for sure!

I was like *** the old professor didn't have any issues, but since he didn't grade it before he died I have to redo it. I am so deterred by this class....I don't like the new professor and don't want to do anymore papers for him. He is hard core teaching this class like it is a grad school course. I am wondering if they got someone new or if it is still S. P. Can you let me know?
Is "s.p." the professor's initials? Those aren't the initials for the professor whom I am currently taking the class under.
I just started my second book out of four. I really need to hurry up, but these books are time consuming.
