Starting the thread since I could only find Summer 2021z Has anyone applied to and/or gotten an admission decision from Mount Sinai PSON for their ABSN program starting Fall 2021? Where else did you apply? Share stats if comfortable, you know the drill! Thanks!

I'm just curious. I'm taking one pre-requisites and I'm still waiting on a decision. I've send them numerous email about my application status and the response I get back from them, they are still processing my application. I have been accepted to other schools and the deadline to make a deposit is come up and I'm just not sure if I should just go ahead and pay the deposit at the other school that I have been accepted.
For the accepted student please share if you are still taking any pre-requisites classes. if you are how many are still in process.
for the students who are waiting to hear back from the school, how many prerequisites are you currently taking.
I'm currently taking ethic and my GPA is pretty good. My application was completed and verified with Nursing CAS last month. Not sure what's the hold up.
I'm in the same boat as you. I have 3 pre-reqs in progress. I applied late January and still nothing, not sure if they even inform you of rejection or not. I actually emailed them again earlier this week just asking what the timeline was for decisions and haven't heard back. I paid the deposit on the other school that I was accepted at just so I wouldn't lose my spot because who knows when we will hear at this point.
Administration are just so unorganized. At least let students know if they are accepted or rejected and they can moved forward. I've only seen about 5 students in this forum that has been accepted, and I'm pretty sure more students has been accepted.
I was waiting after the Summer cohort application closed, now seriously what's the hold up now.

Yes! So as I’ve mentioned before I’ve applied for the Summer cohort back in early January but realized due to time restraints, I rejected the acceptance they sent me, and reapplied for this Fall cohort on February 24th. For the Summer cohort they were pretty organized and I’ve actually spoken to the director of PSON, she told me that the Fall is way more competitive than the Summer because more people apply for the Fall.
So far in the forum I think only 2 students have been accepted, the other students who have applied here are either into their second or third semester or they’ve graduated! Perhaps they need a little time for the Fall! Let’s hope we all get in!

The scrubs required by PSON are the Medline ComfortEase in the color Evergreen. I wouldn't buy a different brand (even if other brands are more comfortable/cute). Just in case they are very picky at clinicals about scrubs.

I have been accepted for Fall and I have 2 prereqs in progress that finish May 3rd. I applied to PSON in January, I believe my application was verified by NursingCAS 1/26, and I got my acceptance email on 3/10.
Hope you hear back soon!
I went ahead a make a deposit to the other schools that I was accepted so I don't risk loosing my seat. this school is actual my second choice on the list. I received an email from the school about a preliminary review completed on my application and since then it's complete silence. My application was verified last month and soon after I received an email from them inquiring about my prerequisite in process.
I'll wait and see what happen.

Hey julyssa!
Which school is your first on your list? Congrats for getting accepted to that one!
yeah I’m a bit concerned here too, I resubmitted my application for the Fall 2021 cohort back in February 24th, and it got verified by NursingCas within less than a week, and from then on I haven’t received any emails yet from PSON.
Hopefully we all get some news soon...

I thought I was the only one. I already paid a deposit for Binghamton but I'm still curious about PSON but that haven't said anything to me yet but then again I applied really close to the deadline.
Guys - each and every ABSN program consists of of self teaching. That is simply the nature of an accelerated program. To succeed, you need to be incredibly disciplined and passionate about the material. If you don't, you are not going to make it.
The program went through a massive overhaul prior to COVID-19 and was only set back even further when the pandemic truly hit. They are still in the midst of hiring new professors, administration, and so on and so forth.
The reality of this program and every other in the NYC area are: they are NOT easy. I am from Cohort 5 and graduated in December of 2020. I am not trying to sway those away from entering the realm of nursing, but PLEASE make sure you TRULY want it prior to jumping into a brand new career path.
When you REALLY think about it, there is not much of a difference between this program, NYU, and the many others in our area.

I noticed that the application deadline was extended, so I have decided to apply. Still waiting to hear back from NYU. Any former NYC High school students have tips on getting transcripts? It seems so difficult to me and I am anxious to get everything in on time.
Hey! High school graduate of 2017 here, the way I managed to luckily get my transcript was going on my high schools personal website and they had a tab where I get request a transcript from them but for a valid reason. A week later they emailed it to me and even sent it to Mount Sinai on their own LOL!
Does your high school have a website at all? If not try to follow these tips on https://www.schools.nyc.gov/learning/student-journey/student-records-and-transcripts
