Mount Sinai PSON ABSN Fall 2021

Starting the thread since I could only find Summer 2021z Has anyone applied to and/or gotten an admission decision from Mount Sinai PSON for their ABSN program starting Fall 2021? Where else did you apply? Share stats if comfortable, you know the drill! Thanks!

I spoke over email fortunately not via phone, and when I asked how classes would be formatted they only said clinicals and labs will be in person. But as for emina said above, regular courses may be online? I think it’s a good idea, labs/ clinicals in person and regular courses online. Well find out soon! 

Classes are held synchronously through Zoom and labs/clinicals are in person!

The lab coat was $18 on Amazon and I ordered 2 scrub tops/1 pants and it came to around $50. Definitely more expensive than the PSON affiliated site, but I would rather have them sooner. 

Also with regards to embroidered logos, I heard that PSON doesn't want us to get them embroidered? Not sure why, but that is what I heard. So I just avoided that altogether and ordered from another site. 

WOW! Thank you so much for this input! There’s so many answers I’m getting because I spoke to some girls who either recently graduated from the program or about to finish and they said their uniforms and coats came embroidered... and to be honest I really would prefer the embroidered uniforms! 
In regards to uniforms coming late, the students told me that we don’t necessarily need them until the second semester because that’s when clinicals start right? So I wouldn’t mind if they come late... but if you’re saying they’re not embroidered and just regular scrubs then I might just shop somewhere else! LOL!

I wanted embroidered scrubs too and was planning on ordering them as such, but my friend who is starting in the Summer said she ordered it with the embroidering and then PSON/that website reached out to her and said they are not doing embroidery? And they just sent her regular scrubs?

I'm honestly not sure so maybe you can reach out to PSON and ask them? Would love more feedback on it!

 

And no, I have not been to the new building yet!

No, I think they took off the embroided. 

Honestly, the suite styles scrubs feel horrible. The quality is bad. I recommend getting from somewhere else with a similar color. I bought the hunter green from figs.

Would the teal from Figs be good?

Yeah I’m looking at Scrubs & Beyond or Figs! So I see two colors, Hunter green or Caribbean green. Would either or count?

I like how the Caribbean-Teal looks more than Hunter green... is that an okay color?

no, hunter green is the closest color to the school scrubs. everyone has to wear the same color

Awww okay, I like the Hunter green so that’s alright! On scrubs & beyond I see you can personally embroid the lab coats and stuff so I’ll do that LOL! 

Has anyone received any new updates/ acceptance letter for PSON? They’re taking a bit long from when they originally accepted me for the Summer cohort (changing to the Fall, I’ve reapplied for Fall). I’m getting nervous now LOL, I almost feel like wanting to email them for any updates...

yes!! almost done!! 

yeah only once we went for lab. clinicals are in second semester so they send out a schedule
