Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone had any insight on the steps that occurred after taking the pharmacology exam and passing? How long did it take for someone to contact you for interview? What was the interview like? How do you like working at this facility?

Thank you!

If you go to the open house everything happens in the same day. That was my experience. I've been working for beth israel since 2009. I interviewed and took the pharm exam at the same time.

Hi perfexion

I've sent you a private message thanks for your response!

Hi, late reply but I was wondering if you had taken the exam yet. How was the exam? how much did it differ from the study guide that they give you? And did you get an interview? So many questions but I am in the process of studying for the test

Beth Israel Roosevelt and Sr Luke's hospitals had open houses in 2012 but since merger with Mount Sinai I heard they no longer do. The open houses they had were once a week on Tuesdays in the morning for new grads and in the afternoon for experienced RNs. I went to one back then as a new grad ...the recruiter met with us as a group and told us about the hospitals and how as new grads we should look elsewhere etc . The recruiter didn't even look at our resumes. The only new grad who got an interview that same day was one whos mother works as RN at St Luke's and she made sure to highlight that when we went around the room introducing ourselves. So that open house for new grads was a total waste of time. Even if you got the recruiters business card the recruiter never replied to any new grads emails after that.

Also they only consider you as having experience if you work in acute care or skilled nursing facility with care similar to the hospital. Now that they merged with Mount Sinai there's no open houses ...so u have to apply only or somehow get a managers email and contact them. And even with hospital experience, you will only be considered for the specialty you work in...if u have exp in medsurg then that's what they consider u for or if exp in l and d they only consider u for l and d and not nicu or icu or emergency room.

thanks for the info! I saw a post at lenox hill hospital about an

invite-only nursing event, i registered and hoping i cud get an invite.. if not, there's no harm i trying. thanks again..

Invite only are good. The one at Roosevelt St Luke's I'm talking about was one that people just walked in. At least with one that invite only you already know that they have some interest and will not just say u all are new grads, apply elsewhere. What's the point of having open house weekly for new grads if u gonn tell em sorry get experience somewhere else . Now that I have experience I feel hesitant to apply places that were rude like that.

I've looked all over the Lenox hills site and can't find an invite only event. Can I ask where you saw it?

Try the nurse.com career fair on Oct 28 in Queens. They have separate sessions for experience and new grads. I heard these career fairs are a good experience and people have gotten jobs from them.
