Hi all,
Has anyone applied to and/or gotten an admission decision from Mount Sinai PSON for the ABSN program starting Summer 2020?
Thanks!

Thank you . I wonder on what grounds do they select particular students to be interviewed and others that are not ?
I heard back in 5 days. I think the interviews are a way for them to get to know some people. I don't know. What are your stats? Do you come from a medical background?

Cumulative is 3.40 and prereq grade is 3.79. I do have several years of experience in healthcare. I hope we all get in. If I get accepted It would be nice to form a study group

I was thinking the same thing. I am bracing myself for a very difficult and rewarding 15 months but having people to study with would be great.

I received my acceptance exactly a month + a day after I submitted my application. I don’t think any of us would really know how they come to that decision, it seems kind of random.. there have been people with good stats and experience that didn’t get in or had to interview, and some with slightly less that were accepted and didn’t have to interview. I really think they look into the whole background and may be more likely to want to interview people who come from different careers or have minimal experience. It really looks like it’s varied

I think the same! I’m usually more of an independent studier LOL but I think with a program like this, it can really help in ways studying alone can’t

I agree, I can understand some people aren't open to studying with others but I think for this kind of intense program, support within the program from each other would be critical.
For anyone taking courses through Portage, do you pay for them upfront? I wasn’t planning on taking them before the program but I’m kind of nervous about it because I’m sure it would help. I also considered renting or getting nursing books on both subjects and just studying/doing some practice questions at home
