Published

Hi all,

Has anyone applied to and/or gotten an admission decision from Mount Sinai PSON for the ABSN program starting Summer 2020?

Thanks!

Awesome! Good to know. I will probably register for one soon. Another question.. did any of you also apply/get accepted to Mercy ABSN program? I got into mount Sinai and mercy. Was wondering if anyone is making a decision between the two?

These two are my options but I wouldn’t have my prereqs done in time for Mercy’s fall application. I’m waiting to hear back from Mount Sina

We have to take it through the American Heart Association and they are still allowing people to register for the certification. So they’re probably still offering it.

I will call tomorrow. Thank you.

Would this be the correct class we need? Anyone know?

I just had a thought.. I still need to complete the BLS certification before school starts but I doubt anywhere is offering them due to Covid. If you have already received yours, where did you do the training?

I got mine done through American Red Cross (ARC) and Aquatic Solutions in NYC was the provider who taught the class. You receive a digital certificate through email showing it's coming from ARC.

Here is the place I took mine. It looks like they only offer a hybrid class due to these circumstances. When I did mine in September it was about a 5 hour in-classroom training:

https://www.redcross.org/take-a-class/classes/basic-life-support-bl/a653o000001CqgD.html?cgid=bls&isCourse=true&storedistance=9.41#cgid=bls&zip=11201&latitude=40.5828&longitude=-73.9532&zipcode=&searchtype=class&start=6

Was curious to those taking Patho/Pharm through Portage if majority of you will be taking both classes or just one?

I have taken Patho already (from a different school) and was thinking of taking Pharm but I submitted my transfer assessment form in already and wasn't sure if I can still opt to take it.

Email them to ask if you can add it to your transfer assessment form or if you can send them a revised one. I'm sure they will accommodate you. I haven't sent mine in yet and was thinking I should write that I intend on taking both just in case I am able to take both. Just not sure if that obligates me to complete them both.. what do you think?

Can anyone guide me to where I can find grant programs for the school?

Thank you

It was okay. I was nervous about the whole thing. I felt like it was more of a job interview questions which I wasn't expecting.

Tell me about yourself? Why do you want to pursue this field? Tell me something, professional or personal, that you prevented and how did you do it? Is there a reason that someone would complain about you at work and why? The last two aren't verbatim but it similar to what I can remember.

They ask different questions for each candidate. I read someone else on here was asked questions that I didn't have.

Take a deep breath, go over common job interview questions (I felt like the questions that they asked me were more job-related) and try to answer all the questions they have the best that you can.

Thanks so much!!!!

I don't think it would be a problem for you.

Does anyone know the exact address of the new location? I can't find it on their website
