This is really helpful info, thanks everyone who commented! I am also applying for Spring 2013 ABSN admission, but it is hard to find out much info from their website and admissions staff.
Does anyone have more information about clinicals? What hospitals do they partner with and how many hours/week and which semesters do you do clinicals in?
Thanks for any help/advice!
I tried putting this school in the national League nursing accrediated commission and the school was not uploaded it sad error could not be found http://www.nlnac.org/forms/directorySearch.asp 45,000 flat for an ABSN program that is great.

As part of a four year university the nursing program at College of Mount Saint Vincent's is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) not NLNAC.
Sorry if this question has been asked before--in terms of pursuing a masters, is CCNE or NLNAC roughly the same or is one generally preferred. Is their ABSN also accredited (I heard rumors it has filed but is not yet approved).
Also, for those who have done the program, if you are missing prereqs do they offer them the summer before?
Hi all - Anyone at CMSV a current student, soon to be graduating, or already graduated? Would really appreciate any feedback on the program, pros/cons, value for education, job connections, etc.
ebinbrooklyn - I spoke with Ellen Lynch (graduate admissions counselor) and she said the ABSN was always accredited... former coordinator was giving misinformation to prospective students (I was at an open house when that was brought up since everyone was concerned about the program being legit).
Hi Vroom – did you end up applying to CoMSV? Did you get any other notable info from the open house? Do you know if the curriculum includes the summer? The next Manhattan info session is June 17th.
Just to reiterate what was said above, the school and degrees ARE accredited. I checked the CCNE website. As for the (very) low NCLEX passing rate – yes, that is discouraging. But still, my other option (so far) is a school that has a steadily declining pass rate and charges $1000+ per credit for a 62 credit program, i.e. greater debt for not much greater quality program.
Thank you for any input!
Hello pregunta - I'm in the process of applying to CMSV. I still have to satisfy one more prereq (chem, which I'm taking this summer) since the one I have has expired!
This is a collective look at the New York State RN NCLEX Results: 2008-2012
NYS Nursing:Nursing Programs:RN NCLEX Results: 2008-2012
I do I have a contact who's a student there now and I'm hoping to pick her brain real soon regarding the program's pros/cons. I'll post here if I have any news to report.
Hi! I was accepted into college of mount saint vincent ABSN program for the Fall. I called CCNE and they verified that their ABSN program is accredited. But now my question is, is their program approved by New York State. From what I understand a nursing program must be fully approved by NYS in order to sit for the NCLEX and for the state to grant you a RN license.

Being as all that may I'd be more concerned about their NCLEX passing rate trending downward.
