Motlow Applicants 2014

Hey everyone! Just wanted to create a place for potential Motlow Nursing students for fall 2014 to converse, ask questions, and get to know each other. Anyone out there? If so, which campus do you hope to attend? I live near Lavergne, so Smyrna campus will be my home base.

For those of you who have questions about the process over the next 6 months, I went through all of the application/acceptance/orientation/etc steps last year, but had to withdraw 3 weeks before classes started due to a financial aid fiasco...so I know what's to come and would be glad to clarify anything for you.

Lunderwood- what was the price of the background check and drug test?

The background was 33.50 and the drugscreen was 40.00. You set them both up through that application station.

Hey guys...wanted to share something with you:

Straight A Nursing Student | Ace your way through nursing school

I've only begun to scratch the surface with her blogs, but so far I've found some really great info! She was an avid user of the Uncalendar planner (which I recently bought) and shows pics of how she organized all of her tasks in it during the program. She also made about 50 sets of electronic flashcards through the free app gFlash, and tells you how to access them through it. There are lots of other study aids/tips and miscellaneous goodness that I think could be really useful to all of us. Be sure to check it out!

That's pretty awesome frenchie! I also have a little helpful tip. For those of you who don't own a scanner and have an iphone (I'm sure android has a similar app) there is an app called "genius scan". All you have to do is take a picture of the document using the app and crop the picture to the corners of the page. Then, It will make your picture looks just like a scanned image! I used it and all the documents I have turned in are labelled "completed" on my record tracker so it works for sure.

I don't know if anyone has went to do their two-step tb test yet, but if you do make sure you know what it is and why it is a two step...I went to my doctor yesterday and no one there knew what a two step was. So Friday when I return to have it interpreted I

am taking information about the actual two-step test. (Dr. was thinking one test would suffice)

Simple question here...Shoes...are there specifics on shoes or just plain white leather? What if the sole has a little light gray stripe...or what if there is some mesh on the toe, like most have?? I am so stressed over the tiniest little details.

I was told completely white including the bottom and no mesh due to the fact a needle could penetrate through. Also, the mesh isn't such a good Idea because you are handling so many wastes(I was a cna and once spilt a bedside urinal all over my pants and shoes. I had to work the remainder of that 12 hr shift with wet pants and socks because of the mesh.)

Hi my friend,

I have question please, did you guys finished the background check? How long it took for it to be completed? I done mine on June,01 and as of today the status showed "pending, not completed yet".

I'm just wondering if it's just me or everybody else to, because it says it will take 3-5 business day to be completed.

Ali, I submitted mine's on 06/13 and it said it was completed and available for viewing on 06/16. So it took the minimum 3 days. It could be something as simple as previous addresses not matching up or a typo somewhere. I suggest calling Truscreen's 1-800 #. It's: 800-735-2660. Make sure to have your transaction # available. Its a combo of letters and numbers. They should be able to give you an update. Hope this helps!

Anyone else having trouble in MyRecordTracker getting the option to ACCEPT terms of service when trying to sign up for an account?? It only gives me the option to NOT agree and of course, then I cannot proceed any further. I have been trying for 15 minutes and it will not light that little circle up so I can click on it!!!!!!

It all went fine with me, but I heard couple folks have the same problem at the orientation, try to call Alison Barton the Nursing secretary
