The Strangeist Name I Heard Was twyla (TY-LA)

Hey, I went to high school in the 50s with a girl named Twyla (she pronounced the "w", though). Her sister Phyllis married a boy named Phillip. They named their first child Philena (I'm not sure of the spelling).

I remember my dad telling me he knew a kid named russell nails but everyone called him rusty.... rusty nails. He also knew a kid named semore butts (see more butts). What were the parents thinking????

I once read about a Mediao actor called Seymour Butts, but that was his stage name. :smokin:

Specializes in ICU, Intermediate Care, Progressive Care.

A snotty kid once told me I could call him "Hismajesty." Not sure if that's how it's spelled, or even if he wasn't just being a smart@$$. I couldn't call him that with a straight face, so I just said "hey you."

Specializes in Forensic/Psych/Surgical nurse.

I'm all for "different" or "unique" names, but when you start naming kids 'Sparkle' or 'Cotton' I think the creative train needs to stop.

My nephew's name is Zen. That is as weird as it gets from me.

Jermaine Jackson named was one of his kids Jermajesty. :uhoh3: My observation is that calling a child "Your Majesty" or some variation thereof is NOT a term of endearment.

Specializes in ortho, hospice volunteer, psych,.

a second grader came to our door selling christmas wrapping supplies and, sucker that i am, i bought a bunch of stuff. he was absolutely adorable! no front teeth and shoes untied, his name was sir gregory.

that was his first name!

I had " Ziggy " last week...

The parents were so adorable that it just fit the baby so well if it had been anyone else I would have worried about them! lol

Specializes in LTC, Hospital, Mental Health.

I knew a Jamaican lady who had named her son Y'majesty Highness. I kid you not. Her daughter's name was Heaven.

I'm not a nurse yet but my sister's friends named her twins King and Queen. Maybe some people find that cute but I think it's ridiculous lol.

I once saw an obituary for a woman whose maiden name was Queen King. :jester:

i had a patient that named her baby Jeiri Jeri (As first and Middle names)

only she knows what that means or is :p
