Not a name I've encountered, but my good nurse buddy is married to a cop and part time parole officer. He had a "client" named "Strawberrious" (male)
I went to school with twin boys...Steven & Stephan
(Stephan pronounced "Steffan")
One of my best friends has a grandmother named Jewel.
But in my family...we all have 'normal' names. Just some wierd nicknames...I've got a Great-Aunt "Tootie", an Great-Uncle "Beans" (he's married to "Tootie") and I had a Great-Aunt "Skip" (who was "Tootie"s sister). :)
My step-son's name is Braxton Mackenzie. His mom is Kendell Lee (first and middle names) - unusual names but really neat - I think she did a good job!
My grandmother is Ruby Claire and my other one (I found out when were were preparing her obit. - can't believe I never knew this!) was named officially (on her birth cert!) Tiny Mary Ann Clement.
Went to hs with a guy whose family is Korean. All the boys in the family have the first name Jun last name Yum. It's the middle name that distinguishes them: Jun Bum Yum, Jun Sak Yum (those are the two I remember)
My aunt kept twins: Relencia and Relesia. They were combinations of mom and dad's names.
Cousin named MacKenna and another named Arenda - both girls
This isn't that unusual but definitely southern: aunt named Betty Jean
Here's another good OLD southern name: Hembree- that was my great-uncle's name. Some others from the family tree: Cuyler, Willis, Lyman, Candler, Asa and best of all: Ninian Beall (all men) and Rubilee, Ollie, Sadie, Starla
I remember when my middle name was unusual - you hear it more often now: Ansley
Had a patient in Post-partum not so long ago who was Muslim and they named their daughter Muhammed. They told me it was unusual for a girl but they wanted to honor the grandfather whose name was also Muhammed.
Former next door neighbor named their daughter Gracie Lou (and yes, this was before Miss Congeniality came out!) - can you tell I live in the south?!?
My grandfather was from the south and hi name was Heber Gregg (pronounced heeber) when he passed away we went to order flowers and the guy at the florist shop said "is that Jeeber Gregg?" as sad as we both were my sister and I cracked up that someone could actually mess up his name even more!
My husbands family is from Arkansas and here are some names Bernis Elton, Ferrell Prentiss, Leland Rufus. Othor, Cecil, Troy,Chet not Chester. Two Girls Olliemay and Charlsey My father-in-law told my husband and I ( we had the first Grandchild) not to name our children after anyone on his side of the family And we didn't Husband's name is Michael pretty normal huh!!! Daughters are Andrea Nicole and Allison Linn ( we did spell that alittle different) and son is Zachary Ian I guess some people would think Ian a little different but we liked the sound of it....I do have a sister with the middle name Bobette so I guess that is weird. fathersname is Bob and since the said they weren't having anymore children wanted to get his name in there.. They ended up with 3 more 2 of them boys lol:eek:

Two of my children have a half brother by their biological mother. Named the poor kid after her favorite beverage: Jack Daniels.
