There is a little girl who goes to my church whose name is Honey Combs. Combs wasnt her origional last name. Her mother remarried and her new husband, whose last name is Combs, adopted her. She is 13 years old.
I also knew a little girl named Summer Hickey, but her birth parents pinned that one on her!!
Kim
In the day care where I work two little girls were named Kolbie and Mykal (pronounced Michael).
My ex mother-in-laws name is Hattie Demples. Belive it or not my ex husband wanted to name our daughter Hannah Demples. It is Hannah Elizabeth. I won that one.
I have some distant relatives named Earl, Myrl, Burl, and Pearl. Brothers and sister.
My neices names are Dominique Dawn Marie and Jewel Renee Lee.
My daughter has a friend named Elva Katherine (she goes by Katie), her sisters name is Daris Taylor, and their mothers name is Tana.
I had a teacher named Davida (pronounced Da-vee-da). She was named after her father David.

Well, up til now I didn't have any to add. But today we had a Riis. Pronounced like Reese.I felt so bad for the kid. The parents' other kids had relatively normal names with normal spellings. Now to me, Reese is not bad. But Riis in no way to me would convey the way to say that name.
Yep, poor kid will be hearing people try to figure out how to pronounce it for the rest of his/her life.

And John Rhys Davis was in Indiana Jones movie.
My daughter the librarian comes hom often with new ones.
Cha-Keen-ahhh (thats the pronunciation she gave) to her reall spelling of
CHICKEN-A
Grandmama had a neighbor who named her boys Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
Their mother was mariah and their father was Joseph Dan (JD to all).
My sister-in-law named her baby "Daniel Theodore Bear ______-______"(hyphenated last names). That poor kid's going to need therapy some day.
Had a Pebbles in my nursing class.
My Grandmother was named "Alberta" and had a sister "Florida"
Named my own kids Elizabeth (who we call Lil) and Madelyn (whose school friends pronounce like Madeline) I named her after Maddy Prior, the female vocalist in Steeleye Span. It was important for me to pick names that would be instantly recognizable as female. :)

On the Cleveland Indians, there is a player by the name of Coco Crisp. I asked my husband if Coco was just a nickname, given to him b/c of his last name. He says he doesn't think so. In the media, he is always referred to by the name Coco. I bet he took some ribbing as a kid.
