A friend of my co-worker recently named her daughter Emsley. Never heard of that one before.
I also knew of someone naming their daughter Charlie. My old boss named her daughter Dillon. My friend's daughter's name is DeLaney (which I think is cute).
My 5 year old son is growing up with girl Dillons, boy Dylans, girl Jordyn's, boy Jordan's, girl Taylor's, boy Taylor's, girl Dakota's, boy Dakota's, so on and so forth.
But then again that's a whole nother thread to start...
Knew a girl once named Metomorrow. During a visit, her mama's OB told her she was in early labor and said, "You'll probably see me tomorrow."
She went into labor that night and had the baby the next day and named her Metomorrow... go figure!
Also, knew a nursing student who named her baby Patella! Hummmmm.....
my parents named me Adrianne after rocky's girlfriend in the Rocky movies
my brother dated a girl who's name was Birchie (i think it was a southern family name)
my mom named my bro Edward Arthur because Arthur means bear -- his name is Edward bear -- like winnie the pooh
my sister is lilia rose
mom's name is Nanette Geralyn
also have a relative named George Washington B________
I have an aunt named Twila (again i think it's a southern family name)
my mom works with a guy named Tom Thompson --which i just think is silly and lacks any originality
I've always liked having a slightly odd name because I never had anyone in my classes with the same name -- I went to a small catholic school where we had 30 people in my class and that included SIX Jennifer's
I am guessing, but were you born in approximately 1973? I worked newborn nursery in the Navy that year--seemed like every female baby was a Jennifer and every male baby was a Justin--
After "Roots" came out, I remember reading a letter in Time magazine that said, "I predict that in 7 years, every 1st grade classroom in the counry will have at least one, and more likely several, African-American boys named "Kunta-"
Sure enough, I have since met many grown up Kuntas--
A girl I work with named her daughter Pajama Pinky....and pronounces her name as "paj-a-may pinn-kay". (yeah, this is arkansas...)

I went to school with a boy named Harold Bott. Everybody called him Harry Butt. When I had children I carefully chose names that didn't spell out anything with initals and didn't sound like anything. For example: Michelle Lynn sounds nice until said together. It sounds like the tire company Michelin. What are these parents thinking? Poor kids.

We had an Aunt Twila on my mom's side and nobody thought anything of it until my four brothers (who were 3,5,6 &7 ) all started calling her "Aunt Twila Paper"!:rotfl: :chuckle
:roll OMG!

I had a classmate in college named "Cygnette Swan"--kind of pretty, but how about naming your child Baby Swan Swan?
